I have always been drawn to cozy books that reflect the joy and warmth of friendship, home, and hearth. Even as a child, they were the books that drew me back time and again. It is always a happy day when I discover a new favorite book that fits into this category.
Because of that love for these books, I wanted to assemble a collection of the best cozy books I could share with others.
Homeschooling with Cozy Books
This was originally a series called A Month of Cozy Books that I wrote for a month-long blogging challenge. Since then I’ve added a few books here and there.
Now that I have an emphasis on my website for creating a cozy life of peace, understanding, and joy for you and your loved ones, I’m ready to expand this even more.
So in addition to the collection of some of my favorite cozy picture books and chapter books for children that I’ve already included, I have many more picture books and chapter books I will be adding in the days ahead.
As you go through the books I’ve recommended, I hope you will find some wonderful new books to share with the children in your life.
To see all of the posts, you can go to the Homeschooling with Cozy Books category where you will find all of the books that have been added to this wonderful collection. Or you can select individual books below to click on directly.

Marilyn and family
Hi Marilyn,
You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed the lists. There is so much wonderful children’s literature out there to be found with a little digging. I still get a thrill when I find a wonderful picture book. I don’t think that will ever change.
Happy New Year to you and your family!
Sallie
Miss Suzy was my favorite book from childhood. I still have my copy! I fell in love with the idea of a doll’s house, and when I was 5, I received a dollhouse from my grandparents, built by my dad. I still have that too, and I’m 44!
Hi Catherine,
Caroline and I have talked off and on over the years about making a replica of Miss Suzy’s treehouse, but never have. It would be fun to put together!
I like the idea of doing a dollhouse as well. We look at them at Hobby Lobby a few times a year, but have never purchased one.
I think it’s great you still have yours!

I LOVE your booklist!! We’ve read many, but look forward to finding and reading the rest.
Hi Danae,
I’m glad you enjoyed the booklist! I have another dozen or so books I hope to add very soon. I have the graphics made, but need to write the posts.
Thank you for saying hello!
Sallie
