It was a foregone conclusion that Winter Days in the Big Woods would be a book I would add to my cozy collection. When fall begins to approach, my mind always turns to Little House in the Big Woods.

There is something warm and cozy about the scenes described in that Wisconsin log cabin that draw me back even decades after reading it for the first time. Who can forget this description?

The Cozy Attic in Little House

Can you imagine the magic of that for a young child?

The full novel is often too far advanced for young children, even for a read aloud. But little ones are sure to enjoy Winter Days in the Big Woods from the My First Little House Books.

Winter Days in the Big Woods

The picture books in this series are filled with colorful illustrations and simple text designed for younger children. Winter Days in the Big Woods includes playing in the attic amid the pumpkins(!), making pretty patterns in the frost on the windows, churning butter, making paper dolls, and Pa singing songs.

Could anything be more cozy?

Be sure to add Winter Days in the Big Woods to your family reading pile for the cozy days ahead!

This is part of my A Month of Cozy Books series!
