Little ones seem to all go through a barn phase. I think it’s the combination of the red color and the cute animals. For whatever reason, it’s a predictable stage when you need to find barn-themed books for kids.

These first two books about barns have been Caroline’s two favorite books for about three weeks now. She wants to hear them every night at bedtime. They are both cute books!

Barn Dance!

First is Barn Dance!, a fun book about a little boy who sneaks out to the barn in the middle of the night to dance in the hoedown with the scarecrow and the animals. This books has lots of fun illustrations and a rollicking rhythm to the text.

Inside a Barn in the Country

The other is Inside a Barn in the Country: A Rebus Read-along Story. This has humorous illustrations that Caroline enjoys. Because it is a repetitive rebus book, she can “read” parts of it (which she does very loudly and enthusiastically!).

Big Red Barn

And let us not forget one of her all-time favorite board books – Big Red Barn. I can’t imagine how many times we read this one. Such a cute book with cute illustrations. This will be a favorite we’ll always keep.

More Barn Themed Books for Kids

There are even more barn books, especially in board book versions for the little ones.

Red Barn Toys

If you have a little one who is all about barns right now, you can have even more fun with one of these fun barn toys! Caroline has the Fisher-Price barn and it’s been a big hit with the various animals we’ve purchased to go with it. She loves all the sounds as well.
