The Year at Maple Hill Farm combines two fun themes – farm animals and going through a calendar year. The combined talents and distinctive style of Alice and Martin Provenson shine through in this wonderfully illustrated picture book.

There is lots of cozy in The Year at Maple Hill Farm so it was easy to add it to A Month of Cozy Books!

The Year at Maple Hill Farm

The Provensons take the reader through their farm, focusing on a few aspect of it. They introduce children to the animals and how they have different roles to play on the farm. They also explain how some of the animals interact with each other.

Children also see the farm in each month and season with the unique aspects of each time period highlighted. Because the farm is in New York, there are four distinct seasons in the book.

Children will be delighted with the detailed illustrations and the humor included throughout.

The Year at Maple Hill Farm is a lovely book for young children. It is definitely worth adding to your cozy book reading collection!

This is part of my A Month of Cozy Books series!
