One of the core foundations of my homemaking is to create a pleasant atmosphere that serves our family. Our home’s atmosphere is now such a part of our family identity that I don’t even think about it much any longer. It just is.
But that doesn’t mean we don’t fine-tune it from time to time. As our family advances through the various stages of life, our needs do change. Our living room, for example, has been a living room, our homeschool room, and is now primarily David’s office. The overall purpose of the room has changed each time, but the room’s atmosphere has remained consistent. It’s always reflected who we are as a family. So while some of the details might change, the atmosphere has always been ours.
Here are some posts I’ve written that might spark some ideas if you are thinking about your home’s atmosphere. I’ve also included some products below that relate to this topic.

In my house we need simplicity, sturdiness, and a lot of seating, to be the background for a lot of activity and creativity. We also need various places we can go to be alone, since we are all introverts. We use one bedroom as a library/”away room”.
