Happy Tuesday! Wait, Tuesday? I thought these posts went up on Friday? They did. I tried moving them to Friday and noticed that engagement with them and even the open rates on my newsletters I sent out with them on Friday (or Saturday) went down. Earlier in the week is better to connect with people.

However, moving them back to Monday is a no-go for me. When I publish them on Monday it means I either have to write them in a hurry on Monday morning or I have to write them on Sunday. Although I sometimes will sit down and write a post on Sunday if I feel especially moved to do so, there is no way I’m locking myself into blogging on Sunday. I also found when I did them on Monday I didn’t like the first hours of my week to be locked in on writing this weekly post. I need more flexibility with homeschooling and such. So let’s try Tuesday! LOL!

If you have been around here very long, you know I am always tinkering with things. I’m always looking for the best way to do things. It’s how I’m wired and I’ve learned to just go with it. Although, amazingly enough, I’ve now had this website design for almost a year. I normally change my design every three or four months. It took me years, but I finally found something I like. I’ve read that Google no longer likes the large images across the top and you know what? I. Don’t. Care. I’m more interested in creating a beautiful place for women than I am appeasing Google’s search rank algorithm or whatever they call it now. So if you see the blogs you like all scrambling to change their layout and design, that’s why. Everyone is pushing for more white space, less elements, better ad placement, content above the fold, etc. I. Don’t. Care.

I really like this artwork. One of the things I wish I had learned to do was play the cello. My school district did not have orchestra back in the day so learning a stringed instrument wasn’t an option. But I have grown to love the sound of a cello. Do you think we’ll be able to learn new things in heaven? I wonder about that. I hope so. There’s so many things I would like to learn to do. Eternity is a long time, you know?

Earlier today I posted a new recipe for Caroline’s Instant Pot Mac and Cheese. It’s a favorite around here so you might like to check it out.

Last night I mended the edge of a blanket and it was especially satisfying. Perhaps it is because so much in life feels unfixable or broken right now. Seeing it all stitched together neatly and complete gave me a sense of satisfaction I haven’t had a great deal of lately. So many things feel like they drag on and on and on.

David and I worked today on some pretty artwork for the shop. It should be ready soon, hopefully tonight. It’s part of my commitment to add beauty to the world as much as possible. (Update: All done! Look in the Artwork section of the shop!)

What is happening in your home right now? I hope you’ll leave a comment and share.

I will have to give the macaroni and cheese recipe a try. We have an InstaPot, but I never got very far up the learning curve with it.

My husband brought home an electric typewriter, and several children suddenly became very interested in writing. The typewriter sometimes has trouble advancing the ribbon, though.

I’ve been able to delegate not only some cooking and household work, but also some crafting tasks to the older children.

I cleaned the coils and front grill of the refrigerator, which needed it badly.

We are still in house prep mode for listing our house for sale. It feels like it will never end! I think we need to start embracing the mantra of “Finished (listed) is better than perfect!” Sigh. We have had 2 very well attended and shopped yard sales, so that is a lot of “stuff” out. Now we are down to packing up for storage, cleaning, and staging. Houses are selling so quickly around here that I am hoping it won’t be a long process of keeping everything spotless. I’m tempted to get a hotel for a week after we finally list just so it will stay clean! 🙂

We just got back from visiting my best friend and her new baby. So, now we’re in scramble to get caught up on everything.
