This is very good. Doug Wilson discusses justice, gospel-centered, compromise, and more.

Navigating life in the church can be incredibly complicated during these strange times. Here are some things I've learned (mostly) the hard way and insights about outside forces that might be impacting your church.

I happened across this today. It’s from 13 years ago. If you want the definition of irony, this is it in a brief video.
Skimming the comments, here’s a few that stood out to me.
Ben Lambert:
Chandler is a CRT apologist, who apologizes for being white. Piper is an emotionalist, who has naturally swung left openly over the last few years. Driscoll is not qualified to even be a pastor anymore. Not to mention he supposedly has visions of people in his congregation and then exposes them in front of everyone. These three men are complete hacks compared to Doug Wilson. They’ve all shifted in their theology in huge ways. Whereas Doug Wilson has been pretty consistently standing up for Gods word unapologetically his entire life.
Alright, Squinky!:
Here we are in 2021. It’s ironic that Driscoll and Chandler, sitting to either side of Piper, smug in their assurance that they’re right, would both go off the deep end in different ways while Wilson did not. Chandler is now alienating his massive congregation in Texas by preaching full on racism and Marxist ideology, leaving out the gospel entirely. The Driscoll saga has been rehashed ad infinitum.
Colin A:
The irony is that 13 years later, Doug Wilson has shown himself to be more faithful than all three men on that stage.
Phil GM:
It’s so ironic that he says this in between two guys that have gone apostate, or least completely compromised theologically.
FBC Freeport:
The irony of these three up there critiquing Wilson (ie. calling his people “dumb”) is that Chandler is woke, Driscoll’s ministry imploded & Piper’s sons both off the rails (to varying degrees, including atheist.) Meanwhile, Wlson has been building and growing an incredible ministry for 40+ years that includes church planting, education, university, seminary, printing press, etc. The vast fruit of his faithful ministry is coming into full-bloom, and it’s incredible.
There is no theologian or Christian leader I agree with all the time. They all make mistakes and that includes Doug Wilson. But if you are talking about the trajectory of someone’s life, Wilson has done far more to advance the Gospel and lead people to maturity in Christ than these three combined. How many lives have been shipwrecked by Driscoll and Chandler?
Fascinating.
It’s all about finishing well. Remaining faithful in difficult times. The three in this video have struggled mightily with that. Doug Wilson appears to have been made stronger by the storms we currently face and was one of the few who remained level-headed (along with John MacArthur) during this insanity of the lockdowns.
I’ve used the term “Big Eva” in some of the posts and videos I’ve done. I think most of my readers have a general idea of what it means, but perhaps can’t specifically list what makes Big Eva what it is. You may have never thought through who is specifically part of the group.
Jon Harris has put together a video explaining:
Harris has also written two helpful books:
If you’ve ever wondered about this topic, you’ll find the video helpful.
At first glance, you might think this video isn’t relevant to your life. It’s about a conflict within Southern Baptist seminaries regarding a new movie called Enemies Within The Church that exposes the woke and leftist infiltration of the SBC. This is the YouTube description:
Adam Greenway decided to do what Danny Akin typically does: Deny his school has any issue with Marxism, point to its faith statement, accuse anyone with contrary evidence of lying and slander, and then shame them publicly. This video demonstrates there is cause for concern at SWBTS and Greenway is engaging in bullying, projection, and hypocrisy.
Using this particular situation, Jon Harris breaks down how leaders in Christian circles gaslight people in order to keep control. It’s definitely worth a look if you would like to grow in these areas of your Christian walk. Even if you have nothing to do with the Southern Baptist Convention, Southwestern Seminary, or MidAmerican Baptist Theological Seminary, the video offers helpful insights that apply to any Christian situation in conflict regarding the woke movement.
If you struggle with how to respond to leftist attacks, are afraid of being called names, or don’t fully understand the general woke tactics, then this is a helpful video. It will also help you learn more about how to break down information that you see online or hear in real life.
A significant shift has been happening in evangelicalism in recent years, especially since the 2016 election. AD Robles addresses a tweet from Jonathan Leeman (Editorial Director of 9Marks) regarding building a platform on criticism. Robles discusses how Big Eva (Big Evangelicalism) has abandoned the average people in the pews. He address the parasitic nature of The Gospel Coalition, T4G, 9Marks, etc.
This video I did ties right in with it: Why Are High Profile Christians Bending the Knee and Embracing the False Woke Gospel? {Sallie Video}.
Big Eva is bending the knee to the culture because they crave the adulation and approval of the cultural elite. They don’t honestly care about the average person in the pew. I think Robles is correct in what he says here. The average Christian is looking to other average believers for encouragement and truth. They no longer trust Big Eva and their front men (and women).
