Caroline and I have spent quite a bit of time on Jane Austen as part of her English Literature credit. She saw Matchmaking – The Jane Austen Memory Game while birthday shopping for me and bought so we could have fun reviewing the books while playing a matching game.
The card game draws from Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Emma, Mansfield Park, and Northanger Abbey. There are 25 couples so it includes several of the minor characters. We’ve covered all these stories now so we were acquainted with all of the characters. It was an excellent review the first time we played it.
Matchmaking – The Jane Austen Memory Game
From the Amazon description:
In terms of production, it’s a high-quality game. Everything about it is lovely including the colors and the gold foil on the box. The cards are very thick and include nicely done illustrations. The little booklet gives a brief synopsis of each couple for anyone who might have forgotten some of the lesser-known characters.
Matchmaking – The Jane Austen Memory Game would be a great gift or stocking stuffer for a Jane Austen fan or a fun addition to your homeschooling.

That looks absolutely like something I could direct my sons toward for a Mother’s Day Gift! The only thing is, I would have to play the game by myself, lol. I wouldn’t mind. I love all things Jane! 🙂

Hi Cheryl,
It’s a beautiful game. Your sons should play it with you on Mother’s Day since it is your day. LOL!
