Is it time to add some fun to your writing activities? Did you know my site is full of creative writing prompts for kids in a wide variety of seasons, holidays, and topics? I’ve put them all into one easy-to-use post so you can find just the right ones. I’ve also included some writing related products that we’ve enjoyed and that I believe can motivate young writers.
Camping Writing Prompts & Papers
I created a new product just for this post. Camping Writing Prompts and Papers is perfect for heading into camping season. It includes six writing prompt cards and coordinating papers (both primary and elementary lined papers).
My Favorite K-2 Journals
We used these Mead Primary Journals when Caroline was younger and we both loved them!
There is room for an illustration at the top of each page. (Very important!) And there are just enough lines to write something but not have it be overwhelming for a young child.
When we started with these, Caroline dictated to me and I wrote everything down. We used them like a daily journal and she LOVED going back and reading what we had written earlier in the year and during the previous years. Eventually she wrote her entries herself. They could also easily be used for creative writing and stories.
Creative Writing Prompts for Kids
I’ve organized the creative writing prompts through the academic year starting with the fall topics.
- The posts have free writing prompts you can jot down and use.
- The products cost a few dollars and include colorful cards you can print off.
