Product Description

Swedish Christmas is full of things children remember: candles in the dark, a girl in a white gown with a crown of lights, saffron buns, a straw Yule goat, and a gnome who keeps watch over the farm. These Christmas in Sweden Notebooking Pages give children a pretty place to write about all of it. Use them for a Christmas around the world study, a Saint Lucia Day celebration, or a quiet December morning of writing.

The set includes 34 printable pages in two writing levels. Each design comes with primary writing lines for younger or beginning writers and standard lines for older or more confident writers. One set can serve children at different stages, and a child can move up when he or she is ready. Matching generic pages are included at the end for overflow writing, so a child who has more to say never runs out of room.

Ways to Use These Pages

• Narration: your child tells back what he or she has learned about Swedish Christmas customs, then writes or dictates it.
• Copywork: copy a sentence from your unit study, a Christmas verse, or a favorite line from a book about Sweden.
• Handwriting practice: short, pleasant writing sessions on a page worth keeping.
• Dictation: write a sentence or paragraph as you read it aloud.
• Creative writing: invite a story about the tomten, a diary of Saint Lucia Day morning, or a letter to a child in Sweden.
• Unit studies and notebooks: add pages to a Christmas around the world notebook.

These pages are flexible, not a curriculum, so use them in whatever way suits your family. Print only what you need, and print again for each child.
