Our Cozy Home No. 14

Happy Monday! I hope you had a pleasant weekend. Ours was quiet. Caroline came down with something midweek and was still trying to work through it this weekend.

We finally had some sunshine! During the first 32 days of 2020, we had 21 days of zero sunshine. Zero. As in none. For almost three weeks worth of days. I truly prefer a mix of cloudy and sunny days, but it was starting to get even to me. I told David that we’re going to be shocked how long it stays light later in the early evening because we’ve barely seen the sun for weeks and weeks. The lengthening days are being totally missed by us.

But it’s Monday so that means it’s a new week to jump into and time to set some small, measurable goals. Mine are going to be some repeats and continuations from last week since some of these are bigger projects. David and I also have some significant work things to do this week so any extra time I have will be going toward that rather than extra homemaking things.

Goal 1 – Clean out and organize baking and coffee cupboards since I did not get to it last week or over the weekend.

Goal 2 – Continue cleaning out my clothes and shoes, washing things up and organizing.

Goal 3 – Continue organizing and systematizing our digital clip art, papers, borders, stock photos, fonts, etc.

I’d love to hear what your goals are for the week. Feel free to leave a comment and share with us what you are working on  and then come back on Friday to let us know if you made any progress.

If you are new to my site, you can also find lots of inspiration in my shop under All Products for Women.

Have a lovely week!

    1. Continue on that craft closet, I’ve got all but this corner dealt with.
    2. Sit down and write out the crafts/projects for the Creation story, so I can figure out what I need to finish off.
    3. I’m at a junior high retreat this weekend, so using that time well for building relationships with these young teens.

You are a better man than I am , Gunga Din!

In all seriousness, I hope it went well.

It did, there was one incident I had to correct some girls, but I think that issue will help bring all of the kids closer together.
Now, it’s the recovering from the retreat time.

We have lots happening right now with an aging parent in the hospital some other tricky pieces so aside so my goals these past couple of weeks have been very, very basic!

    1. Getting dishes done and kitchen cleaned up at the end of each day.

    2. Planning groceries and meals more mindfully so that meals and snacks run smoothly.

So far, so good … I’ll stick with these for now.

      Hi Erin,

I hope your parent is doing better this week. That has to be stressful.

I hope your week went well. (I’m late replying to these!)

I’m struggling right now to manage my time, so I don’t think I’ve done quite as well as I could have with my goals.

The retreat went well, and I think my goal was achieved, but not necessarily in the way I planned to do it.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
