Our Cozy Home No. 16

Happy Monday! I hope you have a good weekend. I spent quite a bit of time working on my basement cleanout project and made some great progress. I decided in order to simplify my life, I’m not going to do a separate Friday update post each week. So I’ll just post a new one on Monday and then the follow-up comments will be on the same Monday post. I deleted all of the Friday follow-up posts after I moved your comments to the original Monday posts.

So on to the goals. I’m going to be setting just a few small goals this week since I have a lot of work projects planned.

Goal 1 – Clean out silverware drawer. I purchased a new silverware tray so I need to clean out the drawer, wash everything, and remove what isn’t needed.

Goal 2 – Continue working on the basement cleanout.

That’s it for me. As I said, this is a week in which I want to get a lot of work done and also need to be doing homeschooling.

What do you have on your to do list this week? I hope you’ll share your goals in the comments and then come back on Friday to tell us how it went.

Have a great Monday!

We have stomach flu going around here. Fortunately, it hit the two youngest children in the wee hours, when their tummies were nearly empty.

Beyond that, I need to sort papers and get the tax preparation process started.

Oh, Peggy. Stomach flu is no fun for anyone. Especially a mom and little ones. I hope they feel better soon and you avoid it.

    1. Clean bins in the school room closet
    2. Complete the Bible minibooks I’ve brainstormed, then move on to next step.
    3. Buy empty sensory bottles which I’ve heard exist at craft stores.>> so I can get this project off my to do list
    4. Write out list of history lessons for next year

It’s 4 things, but I’m working on writing out what I want to do as a brainstorm list in my notebook and then come back to it. I’m hoping this will help me break the “I’m not sure what to do, so I’ll mindlessly wander the internet.”

“I’m not sure what to do, so I’ll mindlessly wander the internet.”

You mean I’m not the only one? Except for me it is YouTube because there is always something else to learn and more information to absorb. It’s a sickness. LOL!

But, yes, that’s why I keep a running tickler list of work and blog related things to do so when I’m tired or struggling with motivation I can easily find some mindless task to do.

It makes total sense to do this, but for some reason I thought, despite massive amounts of evidence otherwise, I could just magically get something done if I didn’t make it into a list.

Yeah, for me it’s a combination of YouTube and random internet.

So time for my Friday check-in.

Goal 1 – I did get the silverware drawer all cleaned out. David put new contact paper liner in the bottom for me. It looks fantastic so DONE!

Goal 2 – We took a load of things to Goodwill and got rid of several boxes from the basement. So PROGRESS which is all I was hoping for this week.

So I’m pleased. I’ve been working a lot behind the scene, but managing to keep up with homemaking and homeschooling at the same time.

I got my papers sorted this week, before getting hit with the stomach flu myself. Still have two or three family members down with it.

Thank you for the prayers! God grants mercies even in the midst of trials.

I got the minibooks done, and the history lesson ideas mostly written out. I’m trying to decide what all I might bring in.

The bins in the schoolroom closet overwhelmed me because I’m not quite sure what I want to do with it.

I’m going by the Hobby Lobby today to look into that.
