Happy New Year! I hope your 2021 is off to a lovely start. We still have all of our Christmas decorations up. For some reason I am in no hurry to put them away this year. I love all the cozy lights and am content to keep enjoying them. Maybe we’ll take them down this weekend.
We have new neighbors across the street and it has been so nice to see their inside and outside Christmas lights. The previous homeowners were a nice family, but they didn’t do anything for Christmas in the front part of their house. The new homeowner has her Christmas tree right in front of one of the living room windows and it must be covered with many strands of colored lights. It’s been so pretty to see each evening. It’s the little things that brighten our day to day life, isn’t it?
In theory, we’re back to homeschooling this week. However, I had a nagging sinus headache yesterday (that is continuing today) and Caroline wasn’t feeling well so we didn’t do any schoolwork yesterday and today isn’t looking good either. Hopefully we can begin tomorrow.
We received a gift card for Christian Book Distributors from one of our clients. I ordered The Story of the World Volume 3 to use with Caroline. I also ordered Proverbs – God’s Guidebook to Wise Living Bible Study by Warren Wiersbe. I haven’t used this series before, but wanted something from a book I’ve not done as a Bible study and from a writer I didn’t have to wonder about. (See my post: The Life Lessons of Warren Wiersbe, Rachel Held Evans, and Those Falling Away by Deconstructing Their Faith) I couldn’t preview it, but I almost always add on my own outside study and rabbit trails when I’m using a Bible study book so I will make it work either way.
Speaking of people falling away, I’ve been thinking about this a great deal lately. The past few months have been eye-opening in so many ways. I believe we are going to see some fallout and shocking developments regarding so-called Christian leaders and pastors in the days ahead. The truth has been revealed about many people. Do not be surprised if you see “Christian leaders” arrested for conspiring with China. I’m not joking.
I hope you are ready mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for what is about to start tomorrow in Congress and continue of for a few weeks (as President Trump said in his rally speech last night in Georgia). Tomorrow is not only about an election result. It’s about a military sting operation that has been in the works for over three years. Is that news to you? Then you don’t understand what is going on. It is about rooting out the rampant p*d*ph*l** that has infiltrated every level of our country and government. Is that news to you? Then you don’t understand what is going on. It’s about seeing the full force of President Trump’s 2018 Executive Order regarding foreign interference in elections. Is that news to you? Then you don’t understand what is going on. As I mentioned in my last post, do not be surprised if the Emergency Broadcast System is activated and television and significant portions of social media and online access is pre-empted. One gentleman likened it to the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis when the American public was shown the truth. What we are going to learn in the days and weeks ahead is going to be incredibly shocking and distressing. We’ve been discussing all of this at length in my Christian Women Seeking Truth group.
David and I have continued to update the printables in the shop. If you have A Full Year Shopping Pass, check to see if any of these are things you would like to update in your files. If you have purchased any of these individual products in the past, you can download the updated version in your account area.
If you’ve never used a KWL before in your homeschooling, they can be a very valuable tool. I have an older post called Using a KWL in Your Homeschool you might find helpful.
- All of the KWLs in the shop have been updated. (There are 20 of them on a variety of topics!)
We updated and expanded a number of the writing and notebooking pages that can be used for a wide variety of writing activities.
- Chinese New Year (This one is a brand new product – See my post Chinese New Year Unit Study Activities {2021} for ideas)
- Presidents’ Day (See my post Presidents’ Day Unit Study for lots of ideas)
- I Love America
- Thanksgiving
(December Notebooking Pages is going to be split up into a few different Christmas themes so we are still working on that.)
We also updated:
We’ve updated this product and expanded it a bit. As soon as the election results are final, we’ll make the final edits.
I also added a few things in the Homemaking section.
And in the Christian Faith section I added:
All of these items with a 2 at the end are in the current version of A Quiet Simple Life Planner & Guidebook.
That’s it from around here. What is going on in your home this week? Do you still have your Christmas decorations up? Leave a comment and let us know!
I hope the attempted coup at the Capitol today was not what you were referring to. I’ve enjoyed your blog for years and would like to think that you don’t support that kind of thing.
Hi Claire,
We’ve discussed these topics at great length and depth in my group. I have never encouraged violence and have typed more than once over there I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR VIOLENCE.
What happened today was not an attempted coup. This is why I’ve warning people for many weeks about what has been simmering underneath the surface in our country. That’s why I’ve encouraged my readers over and over again to join my group so they can sort out the fact from fiction.
I don’t have all the answers and I don’t know how this will end. I do know that the entire situation is way more complicated and involved than most people have any idea of. If someone thinks this is only about the election they really have no idea what is going on. I can assure anyone reading this comment that if you only get your news from the MSM, you have no idea what is going on.
I hope that helps. Thanks for asking.
Sallie
You’re right, insurrection is probably a more appropriate term than coup. But semantics aside, I just wanted to make sure that you don’t support the violence that occurred at the Capitol on Wednesday, as I would like to continue reading your blog.
