Guess the Baby Name!

Someone left a comment last evening that I should do a post and let everyone guess the name of the baby. That sounds fun to me, so here we go!

I do want to mention that I did ask for suggestions a while back and gave some “guidelines” that David and I were working under.

Here are the “guidelines” David and I are operating under. (And I sincerely hope I don’t offend anyone by what I write here. These are just our preferences!)

No trendy or made-up names
No trendy alternate spellings
Nothing excessively popular (This is a hard one because many of my favorite names in the past are now really popular so I won’t consider them any longer – names like Emma, Grace, etc. I like having a “different” name and not being one of ten “Xs” in my circle of friends.)
Classic and timeless names are best
Old-fashioned is good, outdated is not

So if you want to take a guess at the first and middle names you think we might have picked, feel free. Our last name is Borrink if that helps in guessing something that sounds good (which was very important to me since we don’t have the most beautiful or melodic last name to work with!).

NO ONE knows the name other than David and me. We haven’t discussed names with anyone else and we don’t even use the name around the house. We still call her Peanut all the time. I’m afraid if I start calling her by the name we’ve chosen, I’ll slip and use it in front of someone else. So I don’t even THINK of her by her name yet. In fact, it will be weird at first to call her by her name and not call her Peanut after using Peanut for nine months! We’ll have to slowly switch over since whenever I talk to her now I call her Peanut. If I start calling her by her name as soon as she’s born she won’t know who I’m talking to! LOL!!!

Happy guessing!

    Ruth?

It isn’t very popular right now…I think. I seem to have a host of popular names for my children (unintended) (except Ruth) (and Gabriel) (not Gabrielle. Gabriel. A boy, so useless to you).

Oh well. *I* had a very popular name (at the time) … and I never actually minded. 🙂

Susan (one of 3 Susans, a Suzanne, and a Suzette in my first grade class. I still felt very special. :))

A Biblical name? …Sarah, Ruth, Hannah, Rebecca?

Emily became so over-used and for a few years, which is too bad… that’s a beautiful name. I also like Sophie, Julia, and Madeleine.

It is hard not to respond to some of these suggestions! For example, names we like but already have in our family, names we relate with certain people so we wouldn’t want to choose them, names that might have been on our long list or short list, etc. Even saying “someone guessed it” or “no one has guessed it yet” would be giving too much information! It is fun to see what people have to say, though!

Hannah – Grace of God – wonderful meaning
Abigail – Joy of the father – love this name
    Sarah – princess
Rebecca sounds great but it means bound and tied. I am very concious of the meaning of a name.

I have no clue what name y’all have chosen, but I keep checking here everyday to stay on top of your baby news since I’m just a few weeks behind you with due dates! I know y’all must be getting excited. . . I certainly am! So if I’m 35 weeks today, you must be what? 37 or 38?

I still like the names I left at your list. Vivian, Marianne or Marianna. I personally have a name picked already for a girl or boy, but we keep it private too until the birth.

I do hope you are feeling well!
