When we live a life full of responsibilities, it can be beneficial to have a visual reminder of what we’ve accomplished as homemakers. In fact, we accomplish far more than we realize each week because some of it we do over and over again without even thinking about it. So unless it is written down somewhere, we often don’t realize all the things we really do take care of each week.

That’s why I created a free printable Weekly Homemaking Checklist. I think of this printable not as a demanding checklist to be followed, but a place where I can keep track of what I’ve done. Instead of taking up valuable brain space trying to remember the last time I did something, I can look at my list and know for sure if I’ve tackled a particular task that week.

Free Printable Weekly Homemaking Checklist

This checklist includes the major areas of most homes:

  • Bedrooms
  • Kitchen and Dining Room
  • Bathroom
  • Living Room and Family Room
  • Laundry
  • Office

There is also one blank section you can customize to fit your particular life. You could use this section for a room in your home such as:

  • Mudroom
  • Basement
  • Sunroom
  • Playroom
  • Library
  • Homeschool room

If you want to keep track of the bedrooms, for example, you can put a check on the day you do a certain task in all of them (make beds) or put an initial on the day you do a particular task in a certain room (a C for when I wash Caroline’s sheets).

This homemaking PDF comes in four pretty designs. The content is the same on each, but you can switch them up from week to week or keep using a particular favorite over and over again.

Sallie Schaaf Borrink

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
