Finding Better News and Information Sources

Updated August 12, 2025

At one point, I included a detailed listing of suggested news and information sources. However, as time went on I became less comfortable doing so. So many people and groups changed in ways that I found troubling. So there is no list here any longer. There are some traces of suggestions in the comments which I’m not deleting.

I’m keeping this post on the website because it was important at one time.

Updated 11-26-23

This post had more content and much longer lists when I started it in 2022. I have greatly reduced how much news collection I do so I have reduced this list to reflect that.

Updated 11-14-22

Updated 8-13-22

In this post, I’m providing a list of a select group of news and information sources I am currently using. I have sourced my news from a variety places over the years and I’m constantly refining my list. There are people I would have put on this list in the past that I wouldn’t now. There are people I will follow for a bit to see if they are trustworthy. Sometimes they are and sometimes they aren’t. You’ll see that I add and remove sources from this list.

There is no one on this list with whom I agree with completely. I do not limit my sources to only Christians. I follow each source or person because after following them for a bit I realize that they are effective at ferreting out certain types of information.

Remember that I tend to always be looking way ahead of news and trends so the writers and websites I find helpful will reflect that.

I don’t read everything they write. I usually simply skim to keep up on the stories I won’t see anywhere else.

So here are some suggestions for you to consider.

Sallie, this is essential information to share with other people. The general masses are so blinded by the MSM and it’s imperative we share other sources. I follow most of those on the list that you do via Telegram.

Also on Telegram, I follow 2 Citizen Moms for COVID info & studies. They are Christian and homeschoolers and I really appreciate their perspective. https://t.me/TwoCitizenMoms

I’d be grateful if you did a list like this for Big Eva and the SBC world, as I’d like to follow that more closely. (And I didn’t even know the phrase ‘Big Eva’ until you said it many months ago! Thanks for that!)

      Hi Lauren,

Thanks for the heads-up about Two Citizen Moms. I’ve added them to my list of people I follow on Telegram. Since I wrote this post, it’s become clear Dr. Parks is a Christian from the things she’s shared. That was great to see. She’s started sharing information about filing lawsuits regarding upholding FEDERAL religious exemptions on the state level. I just started forwarding them in my Telegram account. (Anyone reading this can see them in my blog sidebar.)

You know what’s really sad? The list of people to follow regarding Big Eva and/or the SBC is so small because so much of the public leadership is compromised. I will try to put together a list of people who are offering good information about that and put it into another post. ♥

This list is invaluable.Thank you Sallie for all your work keeping us informed.I subscribed to the epoch times newspaper and emails a few months and I find their coverage very balanced.I do still like World magazine too even though I sometimes don’t agree but I think reading a Christian perspective on the news is very important.

      Hi Joslyn,

Good to hear from you! I agree The Epoch Times is doing some really good work. They are focusing on so many areas, not just news. For anyone reading this who isn’t familiar with them, they have started print magazines and so many other things. There is a massive market for what they are doing. The biggest obstacle for them is simply getting the word out. ♥

And just like that – poof! My forum traffic is gone.

    What changed?

I removed the Google AdSense ads and replaced them with ads for my own shop. Within 36 hours my forum traffic tanked. Was it because the information was no longer good? Of course not.

If you don’t play their games and make them money, they shut you out of the search. It’s really that simple.

Obey your Google overlords or be made irrelevant.

      Sallie,

What a bummer! I love your forum! I try to contribute what I can of important information. You have an awesome thing going here.

      Thanks!

        Hi Kris,

Thank you for the kind words. I am very happy with what I’ve created in the forum and am thankful for your and the others who do participate there. I will still continue to add to it. It is still getting traffic. But there was a noticeable drop after I removed the Google Ads.

I mean, I have to keep it going. I’m apparently still one of the go-to sources on the internet for “What was in the envelopes at President Bush’s funeral?” It gets traffic every day. I think it’s funny.

    Sallie,

Man in America is very good on YT and Telegram. Dr. Peter McCoullaugh and Dr, Pierre Kory have Telegram channels as well. Keeps me up-to-date on Covid.

    Thanks for the update!

      Hi Kris,

I’ve watched bits and pieces of Man in America. Not enough to recommend him one way or the other so thank you for mentioning him so others can look him up.

Yes, Dr. Pierre Kory is another good one. Thank you for mentioning it.

Hi Sallie, My wife and I often tune into CBN and I receive mail from The Flag and the Simon Fraser Institute (on Canada). We are Christian conservatives (English/French Canadian ethnicity) and want to have relevant to the point news. No social programming or propaganda.

I agree that it is hard to find social media platforms that are worth time anymore. It becomes an echo chamber even among conservatives and a waste of time. I will be leaving one myself.

    Thanks for this information!

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.
