For the past few years, I’ve been encouraging people to seek out different sources of news and ditch the mainstream media and Big Tech. I’ve experimented with a few different ways of trying to help people do this because I believed it was critical. If it was true a few years ago, now it can be a matter of life or death.
If you think this statement is hyperbole, then I’m going to be frank. You may not fully realize how dependent you are on the many false news narratives. You may not understand how the framing of news is creating significant problems in this country and the world. If people aren’t actively seeking out better news sources on a daily basis, they have no idea what is going on. That’s not my opinion. That is simply the truth.
In this post, I’m going to provide a list of what I think are better news and information sources that I am currently using. I source my news from many places and I’m constantly refining my list. There are people I would have put on this list last year that I wouldn’t now (such as The Daily Wire – I no longer trust them). There are people I will follow for a bit to see if they are trustworthy. Sometimes they are and sometimes they aren’t.
There is no one on this list with whom I agree with completely. I follow each source or person because after following them for a bit I realize that they are really effective at ferreting out certain types of information. I’m providing this list for people who want to start to look for real information from real journalists and other people who are interested in the truth.
Remember – You don’t have to read everything they write. Simply skim them to keep up on the stories you aren’t seeing anywhere else. You’ll find a few that you like the best. Subscribe and keep an eye on them.
Here is the big thing. When you are consuming news, make a point to look for the patterns over time. I know this doesn’t come naturally to many people, but that is the way my brain works. It’s constantly looking for patterns and ways that stories connect with other stories.
For example, the other day I was listening to an interview and someone mentioned off-hand that Burma/Myanmar is one of the two biggest producers of poppies (opium). The other is Afghanistan. In that split second, all of these news stories that I’ve been following for months came together for me in a very clear way. I had followed the Burma/Myanmar (overthrow of government) story for a bit last winter when we had the Locals group. But it wasn’t until this week that all these various stories fit together for me in a way I was confident I had put as many of the pieces together as I could. I went from thinking maybe I had put things together to being very certain. You might not be naturally wired that way, but you can train yourself to do it.
But you can only do it if you keep up on the news. And you can only keep up on the news if you follow sources that aren’t blatantly lying to you and seeking every. single. day. to discourage you and wear you down. The mainstream media isn’t there to inform you. They are there to create a narrative that depresses you and makes you hopeless. IT IS. TRUST ME ON THIS. You MUST find other ways to stay informed that don’t seek to ruin your mental and emotional health. Truly.
Be sure to check out my forums, especially those related to the Christian Faith and Current Events and Finding the Truth. I am constantly putting excellent information in there. There are some seriously great content sections. I just started a thread of Ivermectin stories and information that is incredibly valuable. There is so much in my current events forums.
No joke with what I’m about to say.
My forums usually get more page views each day now than the rest of my website. Sometimes it is multiple times more. I’m not sure if that is something to celebrate or is really depressing, but there it is. LOL!
You can’t tell from the numbers that display in the forum because the WP Foro plugin STINKS at accurately tracking traffic. They have a stupid way of doing it and won’t change it. (I know this because I’ve asked.) There may not be many comments, but that forum is busy with people reading and searching out information all day and all night. Sometimes I get up in the morning and the forum has had hundreds and hundreds of page views just while I was sleeping.
So here are some suggestions for you to consider. Where applicable, I’ll leave a short comment about why I like that particular source.
Disclaimer: There are some Q-focused people on this list. If you don’t know why I follow a handful of them, see this post I did in the forum: The One Thing That Changed My Mind and the Key People Interacting With Q Movement – Scavino, Pompeo, Trump, Don Jr., General Flynn, Grassley. I’ve covered this more extensively in the Everything Q forum. I do not consider myself an anon and have not read all of the Q drops. (I’ve probably read 15% of them. Maybe?) However, I have identified the sane anons who seem most in tune with the movement and also seem to have the best grasp of the big picture and how it ties into Trump. (And it clearly does.)
