Diagnosis Is In: I’m Suffering From EEF

(Reader’s mind races… What is EEF? Didn’t I read about that online? Or was it on the news? Maybe it was in USA Today. Is it serious? Is it life-threatening?) 😯

I bet you are suffering from it, too.

EEF is Election and Economy Fatigue. (Yes, I just coined it this afternoon.) 😀

Blech.

I’m sick of it all and yet feel compelled to keep reading and listening. It’s like driving by an accident. You can’t help but look.

Pathetic, I know.

Part of me wants to swear off writing about those topics here, but I find it cathartic to write about it and discuss it with others. So I can’t promise something I know I won’t keep.

But two more weeks? And it is sure to get worse before it gets better. 😯

Hang in there with me! 😀

Let me know if you have EEF too!

My only gripe is this: does the current administration think we’re STUPID? Do they really think that we’re all magically feeling all better now? All the war mongering for the past 8 years, and NOW they fix the economic problems? Gah! *throws hands in air in disgust*

The representative to my area, Paul Ryan, was a vehement opponent of the bailout, but realized it was what was best for many communities around the country like the one he calls home: Janesville. Having lived and worked in that area for 5 years, it makes me so sad to know that many friends, who are already having hard times due to pay cuts, prices rising, etc are now going to have harder times as the Janesville plant closes.

There is just no good way to “fix” our economic problems until people stop being so darned entitled, selfish, and greedy. 😡

Sorry, I’m on my soapbox today, but seriously, what is WRONG with our peers? I’m 26, and I’m smart enough to figure that I have to pay my mortgage on time, pay my credit cards off as I can every month, and live within my means best that I can. Sure, Aaron just got a new Blu Ray player, but it is a Sony, it was $198 down from $500, and our DVD player is about to bite it. I could live without cable….but like Sallie and David, I can’t live without the occasional movie or A& E mini-series. It was in the budget, and it is also his Christmas present. But had we not had the money, we wouldn’t have bought it. Seems to me that some people don’t understand that principle.

*frown* I’m just grumpy today, I guess.

    I hear you.

I am past burnt out on this election. I feel that it has come down to outright socialism or socialism-lite.

    Sigh.

I love the diagnosis of EEF. I’m going to have to use that as my status update on Facebook. 🙂

Yes, I have EEF. I can’t wait until this election is over. I hope that no matter who wins, the whole country can move on. I feel like there is so much anger and venom on both sides lately, it worries me.

OTOH, the economy I can’t even think about because it gets me too angry!

All I can say is, that I am waiting for the day to see normal commercials again.

Since NC has been deemed a “battleground state” every single commercial all day long during ANY program is either pres/governor/senate race commercials. And they are ALL so negative on all sides.

I am ready to see the cute little snuggle bear again or even a CAR commercial!

    🙂

New to your blog – but definitely a fellow EEF-er! Best of luck to all of us as we suffer through the next 2 or 3 weeks. I’ll show up to vote, but otherwise I’m skipping out on all the news (as best I can) until after Nov. 4. It’s the only way to maintain a “quiet, simple life”!

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
