The Long Winter | Cozy Book Review
The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder is a must-read American pioneer children’s novel. It is one of my favorite novels in the Little House series.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder is a must-read American pioneer children’s novel. It is one of my favorite novels in the Little House series.

Antler, Bear, Canoe – A Northwoods Alphabet Year by Betsy Bowen includes so many things I love in a picture book including the theme, the subject, and the illustrations. This is one of those books I purchased as soon as I saw it on the bookshelf.

Gathering – A Northwoods Counting Book by Betsy Bowen is the companion book to another favorite cozy book I’ve already shared, Antler, Bear, Canoe – A Northwoods Alphabet Year.
Each of the books take the reader through both a journey in the northwoods and a journey through the calendar year.

The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton is one of the truly timeless cozy books. This Caldecott winner was written in 1942, but it seems to apply just as much today as it did back then.

Homeplace by Anne Shelby is a wonderful picture book for teaching your child about the concept of ancestors. It also gives an excellent representation of how their lives can intertwine with our own decades or even hundreds of years later.
