If you find that women’s empowerment movements, books, conferences, and the like leave you feeling discouraged and inadequate, then you are not alone. And you are in the right place.

    Hi Sallie!
This is such a powerful truth that we need to know ourselves and teach our children. We are NOT enough. We need Christ! We need His Holy Spirit! I loved all that you said here about being careful of the teaching to look within. And, wow–your website and all that you have to offer, along with these podcasts, is just amazing. You are so gifted and I am thankful for your voice in the simplicity of the home, the simplicity of the gospel, and the beauty of Christ.

      Hi Deborah,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such an encouraging comment. I love what I do here, but it’s always helpful to hear that other people find value in it as well.

We all need beauty and simplicity these days. I hope to create at least one place online where women can find encouragement each day.

      Sallie

Sallie Schaaf Borrink

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
