If you find that women’s empowerment movements, books, conferences, and the like leave you feeling discouraged and inadequate, then you are not alone. And you are in the right place.

    Hi Sallie!
This is such a powerful truth that we need to know ourselves and teach our children. We are NOT enough. We need Christ! We need His Holy Spirit! I loved all that you said here about being careful of the teaching to look within. And, wow–your website and all that you have to offer, along with these podcasts, is just amazing. You are so gifted and I am thankful for your voice in the simplicity of the home, the simplicity of the gospel, and the beauty of Christ.

      Hi Deborah,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such an encouraging comment. I love what I do here, but it’s always helpful to hear that other people find value in it as well.

We all need beauty and simplicity these days. I hope to create at least one place online where women can find encouragement each day.

      Sallie

Sallie Schaaf Borrink

For more than 20 years, I’ve written about following Jesus Christ, thinking for yourself, and building a home life rooted in what is true, beautiful, and eternal.

At A Quiet Simple Life, I share thoughtful essays, relaxed homeschooling encouragement, gifted/2e resources, free printables, and reflections on faith, home, education, culture, and simple living.

This is a place for Christian women and families seeking substance, beauty, discernment, and a quieter way to live. Welcome.
