We Now Return You To Our Regularly Scheduled Program

David said at breakfast, “Well, now you can get back to your regular blogging.” Yes. Right after I clean out my mailbox! LOL! So I’ll be catching up on that and resuming my regular blogging. I’ve also been cleaning out my mailbox since we had our little server incident this weekend. In the process, I switched from Outlook Express to Thunderbird for my mail and I’m pleased with the change. If you don’t use Firefox as your browser and/or Thunderbird for your mail, I highly recommend them.

We’re in the midst of cleaning, painting and reorganizing our basement. Well, David is in the midst of painting our basement section by section. I just snoopervise and make helpful suggestions to make it look even better (read: add more work). But he has enthusiastically agreed with my suggestions and they have turned out nicely. He is painting the floor, the walls, the support posts, window wells, etc. We live in a 1925 Craftsman-style house and the basement is the last thing we have to work on before we will have literally worked on every square inch of this house over the past five years. Once the basement is done, we will move some of David’s office into my office and the rest to the basement. Then we will start on Peanut’s room. We’re hoping to have the basement done by the end of July and then have August to do her room.

I continue to make my way through my 99 things in 111 days. My 111 days is down to about 70 now, but I’m pleased with the progress I’ve been making. I’m hoping to cross off a couple more today.

Have a lovely day! 🙂

Sallie Schaaf Borrink

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
