Happy last weekend of October! I hope you’ve had an enjoyable autumn and were able to make some good memories. I’m so thankful we did our apple orchard outing when we did because Caroline has been sick off and on since then. We’ve had spectacular color this year. I wish we had been able to take some more drives, but I’m thankful for all the colorful blessings we have enjoyed.
We finally had our first frost yesterday and the leaves are falling quickly now. We’ve definitely turned to corner toward November and winter. I love this time of year.

Homeschooling
I spent some time this week reviewing my files about right brained learners, suggestions that came from our testing experiences, etc. I felt like I needed a mental reset of some kind. I was reminded of some important things about how children like this learn.
Even though I’ve been homeschooling a long time, I still have to step back from time to time and refocus. You would think it would all be settled in my mind and planning, but every stage of learning and development brings new aspects to consider.

The Greatest in the Kingdom
I got over to a second nearby church and met a few of its members. The city council passed an ordinance against conversion therapy for minors–which is already banned in a roundabout way by our governor’s executive order. There was an attempted carjacking not so far away. My children are getting flooded with political ads on the videos they watch. The library had a whole parade of progressivist books on display in the teen area, but hardly anyone but us was there to see.
