Making Choices & Simple Living

Our life is the cumulative result of thousands of tiny, medium, and large choices. There are choices we make that seem rather run-of-the-mill at the moment that become life-changing. There are other choices we labor over (or at least I do) that turn out to be much less important than we envisioned. As time passes, we wonder why we ever gave that much mental energy to something like that.

Sometimes God makes the choice so clear, we cannot miss it. Other times we make choices in faith, uncertain of how things will work out but certain that it’s the right thing to do.

Our family has been in the making-choices-in-faith camp as of late. We’re not sure how everything will work out. But we know that we’ve asked God for guidance and believe that He always responds to His children who turn to Him in trust and faith.

What are some of the choices you need to make? Are you dragging your feet about something? Is there a choice you need to pray over? God sees the future more clearly than we see the present. He will guide you if you are His child. Ask Him and trust Him.

And if you think of our family, please pray for us as we move forward after making some significant changes in our life.

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to thoughtfully examine all of life and think for yourself.
