KidzType is a free typing website that features learn to type for kids activities. Kidztype offers a variety of free typing games and exercises that will especially appeal to elementary-aged kids. It is also a helpful website for homeschool families who are looking for an economical way to include typing in their curriculum. Let me introduce you to it!

I am being compensated for my time to write this review. All content is my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.

Learn To Type For Kids With Kidztype

Kidztype is a free website filled with typing games and activities for kids. If you aren’t familiar with the concept of touch typing, this video explains more about it.

KidzType offers everything from the very beginning of keyboarding to more advanced exercises. There is definitely enough there to keep a learner busy and learning typing skills for quite some time.

The activities are not complicated so they will work well for independent learning which is a great bonus for homeschooling moms! Any time a child can be more self-directed in a learning activity is a win for mom.

Kidztype groups the learning activities around the following topics:

  • Typing Games
  • Typing Practices
  • Typing Exercises
  • Touch Typing Chart

Each topic includes many activities to utilize as needed.

There are many fun typing games such as these shown below. The various games have themes that kids will enjoy.

Many of the games, exercises, etc. also have multiple skill levels such as easy, medium, and hard or different stages of learning. This makes it easy for homeschoolers to adapt what the website offers to the various needs of learners.

There are numerous practice options so learners will have ample opportunities to develop their skills over time.

Kidztype is a great way to incorporate typing into your homeschool, especially if you are on a very limited homeschooling budget! When your learner is ready to test her skills, you can click over to TypeDojo for a free online typing test. TypeDojo is a sister site of Kidztype and makes it easy to check how your learner is progressing. The various typing tests are also helpful if you live in a state where you need to specifically document progress in each academic area.

If your child isn’t old enough yet for typing, bookmark this post for future use and pin the post as well!
