Heard At Our House This Evening

Setting the scene: Caroline is eating banana bread for her before bath snack. She goes to get out of her chair and give a bite to Daddy and somehow falls onto the floor, hard.

Caroline (crying hard): I need you, I need you, I need you!

Daddy (consoling): It’s okay. It’s just a little bump.

Caroline: No, it was a BIIIIIIGGGGG bump. Kiss it.

Daddy: Where do you want me to kiss it?

Caroline: ALL OVER!!!

The photo is from August when Caroline was about a month away from her third birthday.  She looks the same except the hair is about two inches longer now.  Where she got the beautiful waves and curls… I have no idea. Just a gift from God.

Sallie, she is just beautiful! What a precious, precious gift. In many ways I still think of Caroline as a baby/toddler, what a joy to see her coming into girlhood.

On a completely different note, I jumped over here today for a quick visit because my reader hasn’t shown any new posts from you since your “benefits of being ill” post, and, wow, you’ve been posting and I’ve been missing them. I’m going to unsubscribe then resubscribe and hopefully that will fix the glitch.

I’ve also had no new posts on the reader : ) Glad I stopped by.

Caroline is such a lovely little girl! My mother says that these baby waves/curls will disappear once we cut their hair, so I have let Elise’s keep growing. She and Caroline seem like they would enjoy playing together, cutting flowers and having “tea.”

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
