Forget About a Heat Index – We’ve Got a Wind Chill

I was originally going to title this “Feeding the inner Swede”. Then I thought about “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…” But when I took a look at our NOAA forecast today and saw a WIND CHILL measurement, I knew that those titles just would not do. (Our wind chill right now is 52 degrees.)

Ah, yes. Fall, my most very favorite season, has returned to Michigan. I am such a happy, happy girl.

Yesterday was deliciously cool – I don’t know if it made it much above 60 degrees. I sat on the porch swing reading a book while David was deadheading the marigolds. There was enough of a breeze in the already cool air that I had to put on a jacket on top of my cotton sweater. I made pea soup and blueberry cobbler. I lit the candles, put our favorite autumn CDs in the disc changer, and enjoyed the cozy, overcast day.

I am such a happy, happy girl! 🙂

We, on the other hand, have had a September heat wave. The last coupke of days have been hotter than August! I love the Autumn and crisp chill winds and snuggling up at home and although I do not like dark evenings, I love the way that lights twinkle out in the dark 🙂

I also love autumn! The crisp air makes you feel good all over. Lit candles, soft music and apple pie baking in the oven. What a beautiful season!

    I love it also.

I’m thinking about starting a fire in the fire place.

    Soups on the stove.

    What’s not to love?

I LOVE autumn! It was about 55 here in Wisconsin yesterday. I’m hankering for an apple pie….and chicken soup!

Sallie, what are you favorite “autumn” cds?? Just wondering!

    How’re you and Peanut doing?

I’m trying not to be jealous! It’s still pretty warm in SC, but we’re due to get down in the 60s later this week. It probably won’t feel consistently fallish for a couple of weeks yet.

I’m curious…what are your favorite autumn cds??? I’m in the mood to throw open the windows and have music playing to accent the cool breeze flowing through my house!

I, too, am trying to fight off the green monster of envy! 🙂 We are still facing triple digit temperatures in the desert, but how my heart longs for the chill of autumn, the spicy candles burning, the large pot of soup on the stove and biscuits fresh from the oven. I love playing our Smokey Mountain Hymns cd’s and pulling out my sweaters and long heavy skirts. As I told another friend today, if it were not for how much I also love winter, I think I would live all of my days in the autumn.

Just thinking…well, you made it past 9/11, so I guess Peanut can any time now she pleases, huh? 🙂

I love autumn… The changing leaves, long-sleeved shirts, candles and hot chocolate. I love fall colors and decorating and designing with them. Mostly, I love living in a place where the seasons change!! I grew up with two seasons: summer (sunny) and winter (cloudy). So autumn is a special treat for me!! Autumn, winter, spring, summer; I’m usually excited about the change every time it comes. 🙂

I echo Kristy – I have been checking to see how you and Peanut are doing! I hope these last few days/weeks go well!

I will try to do a autumn CD post and put a few on there.

Thank you for thinking of me and Peanut! So far, so good! And, yes, I was very thankful once we got past 9/11. I really didn’t want her to have that for a birthday. 🙂
