A Christmas Task | Cozy Life Reset – Day 6

I saw this idea somewhere online, but don’t remember where to give credit. The suggestion was that each month on the 25th to take care of some Christmas task. By doing something every month, you spread out some of the things on your plate.

I really like this idea because I have some weeding out of Christmas bins I need to do. I did a lot a few years ago, but there is more I can do. I don’t have the time or emotional energy to do it in December when we are decorating and in the thick of things.

Here are some ideas off the top of my head that would work in different months.

  • Order your Christmas cards
  • Make your photo appointment
  • Inventory your gift wrapping supplies and order what you need
  • Buy tape, tissue paper, etc. and put away
  • Start a Christmas fund
  • Check your outdoor decorations and make a list of what you need to buy
  • Go through a storage bin and donate the decorations you no longer want
  • Go through your Christmas books, movies, and/or music and donate the items you no longer want
  • Start a gift list
  • Make a gift
  • Order materials for a gift
  • Research new recipes

If you have any other ideas, please share them in the comments. I need to go through our Christmas CDs and donate quite a few. We have so many CDs that we haven’t played once in years. We tend to play the same 15-20 each year. I also need to go through our ornaments. We have far too many and I need to weed out those that hold no special meaning at this point in our lives. That task will have to wait until next month since it is way more involved.

Do you have a Christmas task you would like to do today?

I am working on cleaning out my house. One thing I need to do is clean out all those gift bags and paper, bows etc. Great ideas, thank you!

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
