Using a Habit Tracker | Cozy Life Reset – Day 3

So many ideas. So many goals.

So much honest forgetting to follow through when it isn’t right in my face.

Maybe you have that problem, too?

I’m a list maker and always have been. I can work through a to-do list with the best of them. But ***for some reason*** certain daily personal goals don’t get done unless I have a ***different checklist right in front of me*** every day.

I’m tired of getting to the end of the day and realizing I forgot to do X or Z. And I do mean honestly forgot even though I sincerely desired to do that specific thing when I started my day.

So I will be using a habit tracker again after getting out of the habit. (Ha!) I’ve printed off three pages of habit trackers from my shop and will fill out the first one after I hit publish on this post and mail it out to my subscribers. The tracker will be hanging on the door of my office where I have to walk by it a hundred times a day and can see it from my desk out of the corner of my eye. I chose ones with a fall theme. I also chose the apple picture for this post to remind me that I have goals I would like to meet before the autumn arrives. Meeting these goals would bring me much peace and joy if I can meet some or all of them by fall.

I’m working on getting back into the habit of putting on walking shoes and setting a timer to run around the house to do housework for an hour or so. That got off track when I had jury duty, and with my husband working from home more than usual.

      Hi Peggy,

Oh, jury duty! Did you end up on a jury? I found the process really interesting when I did it many years ago.

That’s a great idea to go all-in for an hour. David and I often remark how many things we can get done just while waiting for our coffee to brew which is only about 5-7 minutes. I can imagine how much you can get done in a concentrated hour.

Thanks for sharing the idea! ♥

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
