Simplifying and Consolidating

It’s your Happy Warrior for Christ checking in on this gorgeous Saturday morning in West Michigan. I hope it’s beautiful where you are as well.

What follows below is an update regarding some decisions I made to simplify my life rather than continuing to fight a system I can’t win against at this point. This is a decision I’ve been thinking about for several weeks so it didn’t come out of the blue. Some people will like it. Some people won’t like it. Others will simply go with the flow. In the end, I had to do what was best for me as an online content creator.

Yes, it is partly about not being able to defeat the system which you will read below. But it’s also about my need to create content in a way that seems whole to me. I described it to David this week as trying to imagine the BBC doing broadcasts during World War 2 and never discussing The Blitz or the children sent to the countryside or what battles are raging at the moment. It sounds absurd because it is absurd. That’s what it feels like to me at this moment in history to write or podcast about faith or simple living or Christian parenting or homeschooling and not discuss any of these topics in the context of the times in which we live. I’ve tried it for the past year since I split my website into two and it honestly feels absurd to me. I don’t know how else to describe it. Other bloggers and podcasters might be able to do it. I cannot. Every aspect of my life integrates with the rest and so it truly feels absurd to not think about life as a whole.

I posted a similar version of what is below on my other website this morning. I simply adapted it for here. After that, some additional info is included.

If you watched even a short segment of Tucker Carlson’s recent interview of Mike Benz, you know how massive the suppression of information is on the internet. I’ve known and experienced it for a long time, but it’s nice to hear someone lay it all out in painstaking detail.

This month I began my 20th year as an online content creator so I have seen and experienced it all.

My other website, Sallie’s Rebuilding America, is one of many that has been obliterated by the manipulation. One morning this week I checked my stats and the entire website had one page view. ONE page view at 8:00 in the morning. This is virtually impossible in an even moderately level playing field.

My choices for that website are:

  • shut it down and privately archive it (which would take about fifteen minutes)
  • leave it up but not spend more time on it (but would require monitoring the backend indefinitely)
  • transfer the most valuable content to my main website (which will take many, many days)

I’ve assembled some unique historic content on Sallie’s Rebuilding America in the almost 500 posts that are live, 72 podcasts, and the archived forum. I’m not content to simply pull it from the internet. It’s also not a good fit for me to leave a website languishing. I don’t work that way.

I’ve selected the last option which seems the best of the three. I know this website is also suppressed so moving some of the content from Sallie’s Rebuilding America to here may cause more damage to this website. At this point, I’m willing to take that chance. At the very least, making this change will simplify my life.

I intend to still write new Rebuilding America content here. I’ve already set up a category for it. Over the weekend I will be moving content over to here. It is an involved process due to all of the links and images so I’m not sure how many days it will take. A lot. But I will continue to whittle down Sallie’s Rebuilding America and redirect posts over here. Once I’ve moved everything I intend to move, Sallie’s Rebuilding America will redirect to Sallie Borrink.

I also went back on Telegram this week and set up a newsfeed. If you would like to see the embedded Telegram feed, you can see that here: Sallie’s Telegram Newsfeed. You can also follow me on Telegram.

I also have set up a Telegram feed for A Cozy & Simple Life. I will be adding a page for that here as well as soon as I can get that set up. There is a lot of lovely content on Telegram and I wanted to have a place to keep and share that as well.

I hope you enjoy the changes and find encouragement in the days ahead.

I have never managed to bifurcate my writing, and I know that may be better for SEO purposes and what not, but it’s just too much work to keep up.

      Hi Ticia,

This two website set-up did work well for me. If I had gotten traffic to the other website, I would not have shut it down. But it’s pointless to continue to publish on a site that clearly has been blacklisted by TPTB. Who knows what they will do when I move the content here, but I just don’t care at this point. This is my online home and I’m writing whatever I want. Eventually the class action lawsuits will roll out against all these Big Tech and Big Social Media companies and I’ll join in.

I’ve been thinking the same way for the past three years. How can anyone just talk about “Christian living” or vague “homeschooling” in the midst of the cultural crisis we’re in? After seeing last night’s SOTU address (well, the first five minutes — I couldn’t watch after that) it’s clear that we must be teaching our children how to live in this age. How to stand up for Truth. Thank you, Sally, for always providing truth and encouragement here.

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.
