This week The Atlantic published Let’s Declare a Pandemic Amnesty by Emily Oster. To say the reaction was swift and brutal doesn’t even begin to cover it. It was as though this was The Thing that set everyone off to publicly release their pent up anger regarding all of the suffering they have experienced and observed over the past few years.

I’ve been collecting various responses this week and am now assembling them into one post. If you somehow missed the original article, I encourage you to read it first.

The most frequent responses I read online were some variation of:

• H*** no
• F*** no
• F*** you
• executions
• military tribunals
• Nuremberg

Each of these was often followed by a story of what the person lost due to their unwillingness to subject themselves to an experimental injection. The stories included one or more of the following:

• a lost job and/or professional credentials
• loss of social media access which crippled their business
• shunning by family and/or friends
• the toll on their child whether it was emotional, social, and/or educational
• suicide of child, other family member, and/or friend
• being separated from dying parents, grandparents, or other relatives
• inability to have a funeral
• watching a loved one suffer alone and descend into confusion and despair in a nursing home because there was no visiting allowed
• women forced to give birth without their husband
• ruined health of loved one and/or friend shortly after the injections
• death of loved one and/or friends shortly after the injections
• their own ruined health shortly after the injections

I mentioned in Sallie’s Rebuilding America No. 52 that one thing is certain:

There is a significant percentage of the population that wants their pound of flesh from those who perpetrated this on us.

This is not just going to go away. The overwhelming visceral reaction to this smug, condescending article that could only emanate from a Leftist echo chamber such as The Atlantic made this very clear.

You might be reading this and thinking these responses are way over the top. If that is the case, I encourage you to spend some time with what I’ve gathered below. This is not going away and it isn’t the type of thing that can be allowed to fester beneath the surface. Our country is greatly wounded, sharply divided, and a growing percentage of the country wants their pound of flesh. They want someone to pay for the incredible pain and injustice they have suffered.

In some cases, they are still suffering it. I know of three nurses who lost their job last week because they would not submit to these injections. Harvard announced that all of their students must have a booster in order to enroll for Spring Term 2023. We are facing elections in states where Democrat governors are more than willing to insist children of all ages must be injected with this poison. All of this in spite of the overwhelming evidence regarding how destructive these injections are.
