Happy Inauguration Day 2025!

Happy Inauguration Day 2025! We did it! We made it! Every one of us contributed to being at this point today. Every one of us shared information with family, friends, church members, social media contacts, etc. We all played a part in this.

As an aside, The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite of the three, but I am very glad to be leaving that part of this drama behind us!

I’ll be celebrating the day between my desk and my bed. I picked up the cold David has had for the past four days. I don’t even care. I’m so looking forward to seeing what is in the allegedly 200+ Executive Orders that will be signed TODAY.

Can I ask a favor? Would you leave a comment and tell me how long you’ve been on this journey with me? Were you in the Locals group way back in post-election 2020? Did you find me via a particular social media platform? Reader since 2005 on Blogger? Did you join me later? Do you remember roughly when and what the topic was that landed you here? I’m simply curious to know how God led to put us together here for this momentous occasion.

I’m planning on adding things to the comments throughout the day. I hope you will also share what you find interesting, etc.

BTW… I’m adding this to the The U.S. Debt Clock Secret Window – January 2025 post as well, but here’s the U.S. Debt Clock image for today. I’ve talked about the idea of a debt jubilee a few times. I’m interested to see how this plays out.

I’m thankful that the Lord brought us together at DDD in college! ~37! years ago! I read your blog for years before the world turned upside down (or we started to realize it). I’m thankful to have been on the journey with you and have greatly appreciated your gift of researching and analyzing all things freedom and faith! What a glorious day it is! Praise God for His mercy on our nation.

Amen! I think Honors English is where we met and then on to Tri Delta. You’ve been a true blessing to me ever since, but especially the during the covid stuff starting in late 2019 and early 2020.

I also remember when you called to ask me about classical Christian education. I told you everything I knew from my experience with it and you went off and started a very successful school in the Detroit suburbs!

      Very thankful for you!

Seeing the Trump children walk in…

I think the Deep State killed Ivana Trump. We’ll find out.

Biden pardoned his family just before noon.

      Hi Sallie
I thought there had to be an indictment for there to be a pardon? Did I miss something?

Alexander Vindman’s wife is upset that he didn’t get a preemptive pardon.

Why would he need a pardon, Rachel, unless your husband did something wrong? Why worry if he’s on the up and up?

A blog post of yours came up early in 2024 when looking for info on Hygge. My daughter and I had borrowed books from our library and even though the concept was interesting, when I read your article, “The Cozy Life in America and Why I Prefer It to the Danish Hygge”, it was a lightbulb moment and I didn’t give Hygge another thought! You not only blessed me with your wonderful presentation of the Best Way to live, but I found a treasure trove of so much more on your blog. You have helped, guided and encouraged me along this wild time in life we are in. Thank You!

More pardons of 1500 J6ers and I think there will be more. Those in front of abortion clinics and the TX doc need pardons too!

Amazing day. Patriotism is plain classy, patriotic and fun! As it should be!

Sallie, so sorry you are so sick. I hope you feel better soon. When you are back to feeling better, might you consider writing on Trump taking his oath without his hand on the Bibles/the rushing of the oath/the theory people are discussing of the American corporation vs. republic? Your analysis is always helpful and I would love your insight ~ when you are able and if you are willing.

I’m so sorry you are sick! I hope you have a quick recovery.

I was reading your blog before the Locals group! I think I found it when I was researching homeschooling an only child. I read lots of what you wrote, because my daughter and yours seemed to have a lot in common, even though my daughter is a few years older than Caroline.

I think I really started interacting when you started a forum and were posting about your prudent and prepared homemaker series. I’ve been sporadic since then, having gone through a major move, graduating my homeschooler, and caring for my elderly parents through the ends of their lives last year. It’s been quite the ride!

I so appreciate your level headed interpretations of events and I look forward to a bit more upbeat happenings.

I was appalled at all the pardons at the last minute. I hope the new administration is able to find ways to bring justice to those who did so much evil.

    Feel better soon!

Busy week!! I found your Two Talent Living blog on someone’s blogroll in about 2005.

I saw part of the event where Trump was signing executive orders on stage. At one point before that, Ivana thought she was off camera and was fidgeting. She was off camera for the big screens in the arena, but not for the broadcast.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
