Crawling Into My Introvert Summer Cave

I told David and Caroline I am crawling into my introvert cave now for the summer. I intend to hide out here, interacting with people in the in-person world only when absolutely necessary.

All I want to do is read, deep clean my house, cook good food, sleep, walk for exercise, and work on this website. That’s it. I don’t want to go anywhere. I don’t want to get involved with anything. All I want to do is quietly do my things in the peaceful haven that is my home.

This evening I finally took care of the issue I mentioned in The Cozy Life Reset Day 7 – Acknowledge Your Limits. It was difficult to do, but I know it was the right decision. I’ll write more about it someday.

The past year and a half has been a good reminder of how I simply don’t function like other people. This little bit I saw in an INFJ Reddit discussion yesterday was so timely.

I mean I already knew that as is evidenced by the massive amount of content testifying to that here on this website. I hadn’t forgotten it, but I tested the limits of it and discovered that those limits still matter and might even matter more now at this point in my life.

So I am gratefully crawling into my cave this summer.

Hi and yes….. this came to me as well, as I too am the same personality type. Really there is nothing wrong with doing what the world thinks is Nothing…. I am a writer and artist and helping my son here through issues but he is doing fantastic on his own. I must remember that each of us has to do it on our own. Jesus taught us that when he consistently turned to his Father…… all the time, kowing:”I do nothing of myself, my Father doeth the works. I and my Father are one.” It takes a bit of ego moving out of me to do it .. and it is such a relief to grasp that Truth of truths. Blessings and continued joy.. and I have the same photo bookmarked from years back…. love it. Blessings and joy, Merri

Sallie, you have the right idea. Enjoy your introvert Summer. Do all the things that make you happy and restful. Curl up with a pile of good books .

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
