Badlands Media vs. True the Vote, Gregg Phillips, Catherine Engelbrecht

I’ve thought about making a record of this for a few months and finally decided to do so this evening. I know this might not matter to some of the people who come here to read, but since I’m making a point of chronicling what I have observed from my vantage point over this long national story I think it’s important to add this.

I’ve never been “included” in any of the various patriot/anon/truther groups on Truth Social or elsewhere so I have no allegiance to anything other than God and the truth. I pretty much show up, read for info, occasionally retruth something, and make a few comments every so often. I’m basically invisible there (which is fine).

I don’t know what happened, but there was a huge falling out between the people of Badlands Media and True the Vote (specifically Gregg Phillips and Catherine Engelbrecht). This is curious because when Gregg first emerged onto the scene on Truth Social, he purposefully went on the Devolution Power Hour to break important news. Gregg and Jon appeared to be tight early on. Jon was clearly thrilled at the time that Gregg came on his show to discuss these topics. But there was some kind of fallout over The Pit and perhaps other things. Whatever the reason, things seem to have escalated from there.

This is especially curious because President Trump has often and repeatedly publicly praised the work of True the Vote, Gregg, and Catherine. In just the past week, Gregg and Catherine were part of a big Trump event in Alabama related to new research regarding President Trump’s uncle, John G. Trump, on their Open.Ink website. For reasons I’ve covered in the past, we know that Catherine has been working with Trump for a long time. (We also know she was working with Andrew Breitbart before he was murdered.) We know that people connected to Trump on Truth Social indicated that Gregg is either Q or part of the Q op (unless it was deliberate disinformation which is always possible but I don’t think that’s probable at this point). So why would a bunch of super pro-Trump anons at Badlands have a permanent and public falling out with them when they are part of one of Trump’s trusted inner circles?

The other thing I kind of wonder about (that is somewhat related) is the quick rise of certain people out of nowhere to prominence in movements. (Although not connected to either of these groups, the meteoric rise of Stew Peters is one that comes to mind.) There are a few people who are part of Badlands that I do wonder about, but not to a degree that I would be willing to go on the record and say something that would reflect negatively on them. But I will say that if negative news broke about one of them, I would not be surprised. It doesn’t stop me from using Badlands as a news source or recommending them when I think there is something helpful, but I do have a little asterisk in the back of my mind.

So the possible theories include:

• It’s kayfabe (an act). There really wasn’t a falling out, but they have done this publicly to put separation between the two groups/organizations for specific strategic reasons.
• It’s ego by one or more people involved from one or both sides.
• There was a breach of trust and the wronged party/parties can’t move on from it, even for the good of the movement.
• There are nefarious actors involved who have caused division.

Those are my observations and thoughts, recorded for future reference.
