Parenting is a challenging calling. If you have a child who is wired differently, you have an extra special challenge. You also have a wonderful opportunity to make a tremendous difference in the life of your child. The love and understanding you give today will make an impact both now and for the rest of his or her life.

On this day of rest, I hope you will be blessed by the verses and quotes below that offer a few words of encouragement. I hope these words will give you an extra measure of strength, peace, and joy.

It is comforting to know that the God who guides us sees tomorrow more clearly than we see yesterday.
Unknown

Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength.
C. H. Spurgeon

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV)

God doesn’t always smooth the path, but sometimes he puts springs in the wagon.
Marshall Lucas

Guilt is concerned with the past. Worry is concerned about the future. Contentment enjoys the present.
Unknown

God is looking for those with whom He can do the impossible– what a pity that we plan only the things that we can do by ourselves.
A.W. Tozer

True faith is never found alone; it is accompanied by expectation.
C. S. Lewis

Remember that you are the parent your child needs. God will give you what you need in order to love and guide your unique child as you ask Him.
