There’s No Place Like Home

Our power came on around the same time I was posting my last entry. I am so thankful that it came back on almost twelve hours earlier than the estimate. During our 19 hour outage I reflected on the following.

In the past I loved going away and staying at a hotel. We stayed at a nice hotel last night and while it was a pleasant change of scenery, I couldn’t wait to get home.

If someone offered to give me a brand new king-sized bed, I would not take it. King-sized beds are too big and there isn’t the same comfort of feeling your husband right next to you all night.

Once you break the habit of eating out, eating out is really not very appetizing. We ate out dinner last evening and breakfast this morning and I prefer my own cooking.

It really is kind of scary how dependent we are on others for just about everything – power, water, food, etc. (I am thinking I am going to write a whole post just about this.)

I really, really like my ironed cotton sheets and down comforter.

And though it may sound trite…

Be it ever so humble, there is no place like home.

And I like to laugh. A lot. Start here. ♥
