Growing up Baptist and being a visual learner, it is hard for me to fathom not taking my own Bible with me to church. Yet I know that in some denominations it is unusual to do so.
The church we are currently attending is one of those. Very few people bring their own Bibles with them and instead use the Bible in the pew rack. This is such a paradigm shift for me.
(And, yes, I still bring my own Bible and plan to continue to do so.)

Sometimes There Isn’t a Whole Lot of Joy in Being Right | Willow Creek Admits They Got It All Wrong
Here I am 15 years later still taking my “hard copy” Bible to church. Yes, the pertinent scriptures are projected on the screen for new Christians, and we have a lot at the church we go to. Also, since it’s 2022, everyone has a phone with a Bible app. Lots of people use their app, including my husband, then there’s me sitting there with my book Bible. I noticed that our pastor uses his hard copy too. Maybe I’m just old fashioned, but I think, how easy would it be to change the “cyber Bible”, and given how little the average Christian reads theirs, how many people would notice if someone did?
