Someone left a comment last evening that I should do a post and let everyone guess the name of the baby. That sounds fun to me, so here we go!
I do want to mention that I did ask for suggestions a while back and gave some “guidelines” that David and I were working under.
Here are the “guidelines” David and I are operating under. (And I sincerely hope I don’t offend anyone by what I write here. These are just our preferences!)
No trendy or made-up names
No trendy alternate spellings
Nothing excessively popular (This is a hard one because many of my favorite names in the past are now really popular so I won’t consider them any longer – names like Emma, Grace, etc. I like having a “different” name and not being one of ten “Xs” in my circle of friends.)
Classic and timeless names are best
Old-fashioned is good, outdated is not
So if you want to take a guess at the first and middle names you think we might have picked, feel free. Our last name is Borrink if that helps in guessing something that sounds good (which was very important to me since we don’t have the most beautiful or melodic last name to work with!).
NO ONE knows the name other than David and me. We haven’t discussed names with anyone else and we don’t even use the name around the house. We still call her Peanut all the time. I’m afraid if I start calling her by the name we’ve chosen, I’ll slip and use it in front of someone else. So I don’t even THINK of her by her name yet. In fact, it will be weird at first to call her by her name and not call her Peanut after using Peanut for nine months! We’ll have to slowly switch over since whenever I talk to her now I call her Peanut. If I start calling her by her name as soon as she’s born she won’t know who I’m talking to! LOL!!!
Happy guessing!

Hazel Ruth
Catherine Esther
Mary
Samantha (the feminine of Samuel, the child who was asked for)
Gloria
Evelyn
these are some of the names I would choose from if God blesses us with a girl someday
Mrs Nehemiah
Meredith?
Oh all those names are so sweet! I couldn’t imagine calling my babies by the names we’d chosen before they were born either. But it becomes ‘them’….
We have an Emma Grace, btw. I didn’t know anyone by that name when we picked it…she’s 14. But now we meet an occassional Emma…not too many though. I also think Eliza is a really good name!
Ok, my guesses:
Margaret (I have one of these…Margaret Rachel…Maggie)
Elizabeth
Anne (with an e)
Madelyn
Emily
Hannah (I have one of these who is 19! She is wonderful)
Susan
Hosanna
Julia
I could go on, but I’ll stop…..when are you telling????
Christie
OK, I’ll bite-
Here are some biblical names and others that are just delightful (imho):
Naomi
Ruth
Hadassah
Pearl
Rose
Embeth
Beatrice
Mae
Emmaline
Esther
Mara
Moira
Faye
Betty
OK, I could come up with more, but I think that’s a good list… whatever you name her, I’m sure it will be beautiful. Little girls are so much fun- I’ve got a 3 month old here in my lap and you’re just going to be delighted! 🙂
Blessings-
Jess
I know I already took a guess but then the name Jenny popped into my mind and it sounds like a name you would use.I am not sure what middle name goes best but I’ll say Jenny Susanna.
Catherine
Caitlin
Susanna
Elizabeth
Marianne

How could I ommit two of my favs?
Miriam
Verity
(sisters names but I love them …the names and the sisters!)
Susanna,
Id I ever have a girl it will be Susanna Rose. I have two boys now, Goerge and Harry.
Sallie,
Is it Margaret, Clara, Eleanor, Ella, Elizabeth, Mary,or Catherine…spelled with a “K” ofcourse.
I read post #32 about combining your names, and thought (with a snort) of the alternative: Sallid. From one food group (Peanut) to another. 🙂
I think you have chosen Sarah Katherine.
Maybe Eliana? It’s our daughter’s name – it is Hebrew for “God has answered my prayer”.
I truly enjoy reading your blog – and can’t even remember how I found it. I will be keeping you in my prayers!
