Faith Over Fear

As we head into 2024, I hear many people speaking with fear and apprehension about the year ahead. I encourage all of us to look at the new year through the eyes of faith.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

I don’t have the first idea what will come to pass in 2024. None of us do. It feels less certain than other years in our lives, but it’s really not. We never truly know what will happen from year to year. Not even during the so-called “good” and “peaceful” years of the past.

But our Heavenly Father knows exactly what is to come. He knows what we will need each day as the Body of Christ, as churches, as families, and as individuals. Nothing will surprise Him. He knows the beginning from the end.

God has given us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. If you find yourself lacking any of these today, ask Him to refresh you and provide them.

If you would like more encouragement in the realm of faith, perhaps one of these posts will meet that need.

Thank you for the encouragement! I agree totally that staying out of fear is crucial to continuing to walk in faith in this new year! It’s what has been my strength for the past few turbulent years, and I will continue to trust in the Lord and encourage others who seem to be afraid.

Happy New Year to you and your family.

“He knows the beginning from the end.” Believing that makes all the difference in my mindset and thoughts about the present. We are by nature, creatures that hate not knowing (at least some of us).

Thank you for the encouragement, the links, and the reminder that we can go to Him and ask for what we lack. Our true Source.

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
