Christmas Gifts For A Homeschool Mom

Homeschool moms spend their days focusing on and caring for the needs of others. They are both mom and teacher. They also wear various other hats that can include wife, daughter, business owner, and homemaker. I think the best Christmas gifts for homeschool moms are those that nurture her personally, allow her a little bit of pampering, and that gift her the freedom of choice and time.

So as you are thinking about the homeschool mom on your Christmas list, here are some items that I know I would love as a homeschool mom and I think others would, too!

Gift Card for Books

I would guess most homeschool moms are at least partially bookaholics. Unfortunately they probably spend the bulk of their book budget on books for their children. A gift card for books whether it is from Amazon or your local bookstore allows mom to choose what she loves for herself.

Pampering

No, I’m not talking about diapers!  She has enough of those already! LOL! I’m talking about a message, pedicure, manicure, or spa treatment. If this is something she enjoys but doesn’t normally have the time or money to do, this would be a great gift. Include with it a gift card to her favorite nice restaurant and what a great afternoon out that would be! Have some extra cash this year? Include another gift so she can include a friend for a girls’ day out.

Kindle

I admit I was a bit skeptical about using a Kindle. I love the feel of a real book and couldn’t imagine enjoying reading electronically. I was completely wrong. I do enjoy the Kindle and the flexibility it brings. While it would never completely replace real books for me, I love the ease of carrying it with me when I go out to appointments and how easy it is to bring several books at once! Add on a nice protective case and a Amazon Gift Card so she can start downloading books!

Tools of the Trade

I’m guessing most homeschool moms also have a love affair with the office supply store. Nothing gets our heart racing like a

  • laminator
  • binding machine
  • whiteboard and dry erase markers
  • quality pencil sharpener (with Ticonderoga #2 Pencils in her stocking!)
  • 10-drawer rolling organizer

Time, Time, Time

I can’t imagine any homeschool mom not wishing for more time. There are so many ways you can gift her time. Pay for someone to come in and deep clean her house. Give her a gift card for lunch and babysit the children for an afternoon or day. Bring her some homemade gift cards for a few prepared meals. Every mom needs more time and these would be great ways to show how much she means at Christmas.

What are your best suggestions for a homeschool mom?
