The Fourth Turning – What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America’s Next Rendezvous with Destiny by William Strauss and Neil Howe offered a look at the cycles of American History and the generations of people who live through them. Published in 1997, it provided a detailed explanation of what has been and what the authors believed was likely to come.

Twenty-five years later we can see what actually happened and how events unfolded. We can also continue to anticipate how the turning theory gives us a glimpse of what to expect in the years ahead.

We’re currently living through the time when the Fourth Turning is advancing toward its end and aspects of the coming First Turning are beginning to reveal themselves. In the ensuing years while this comes to pass, there will be many interesting twists and turns that will give us a peek of what is to come next in the story of America.

I’m chronicling on a layman’s level the events that are impacting our lives as Christian and give us a glimpse forward. We’ll also consider what we can learn from what has gone before over the past 25 years.

While things may seem dark at the moment, America will emerge on the other side of this Fourth Turning. This Crisis will end and a new Awakening will begin. Therefore, we press on in hope and work toward a better time ahead for America.
