Five months ago I purchased an iPhone 15. This is the first brand-new, high-end smartphone our family has ever purchased. There were numerous reasons why I went this route that I won’t get into at the moment. I have a different point to make.
But first the obligatory pictures.
I bought the pink one. I went back and forth between the pink and the green. I decided on pink and was so glad I did when I found this gorgeous case for it at Best Buy.
Caroline searched for a picture for my home screen and found this one. It makes me happy.
With better color since phones are hard to photograph
Okay, that’s the end of show and tell.
On to the point of this post.
Some of what I’m about to share may be common knowledge because you are already an iPhone user. But I’m sharing it for people who haven’t experienced this.
Or for people who maybe haven’t noticed.
If I swipe left from my home screen, there are numerous widgets that were already installed. One of them is the Top Stories widget featuring news stories from Apple News. There is a Top Story and then two Trending items. The top trending one is usually news and the bottom one is usually something pop culture or sports related (usually something dumb and clickbait-y).
That screen I see when I swipe left is usually the first thing I look at when I get my phone out of the drawer in the morning. I look at it so I know if something big has happened in the world. I don’t ever click on it. I just look to see if something noteworthy happened overnight. (They even offered me three months of Apple News free with the new phone and I never accepted the offer.)
I look at that screen about five times a day. I don’t use it at all for news, but will sometimes swipe to see what they are sharing.
So if I’ve had my phone for five months that’s about 150 days. I look at that screen 5 times a day. That’s 750 glances at it.
Do you know how many conservative or pro-Trump stories I’ve seen out of the 750?
Zero.
None.
Zilch.
Nada.
The only “neutral” coverage I’ve seen was when the Deep State tried to assassinate Trump in Pennsylvania. I think for one or two cycles they just stated it had happened without too much spin.
That’s it.
Now think about how many people keep and use that pre-installed widget to “stay informed” regarding what’s in the news.
I wish I had made a list of every story that never made it on there. In the busyness of life, I didn’t think to do it. But after just a short time it became very obvious to me that there were huge stories that were never shared there.
I’ve never seen one positive story about the ongoing efforts regarding exposing the election fraud and reforming elections.
If I took the time, I could go on and on.
We are literally living in two realities. There is the reality created by the MSM and big tech (minus Twitter/X). This is where the Kamala voters live who think the economy is great, the border is secure, and she’s a well-qualified candidate.
Then there is the reality the rest of us live in who look and live beyond the controlled sheep pen.
It’s crazy the psychological warfare we are living through every day from every direction.
This is why you can go on Twitter/X and see liberal/leftist accounts who confidently discuss things that are absolutely wrong. They have no idea. I’m not even talking about stories where people have different opinions. I mean basic news stories where you can watch the truth for yourself if you seek it out.
Thankfully there are fewer and fewer of them out there. But the brainwashing is real. The constant propaganda is real.
They truly live in an alternate reality.
Aided by their iPhone.
