Joel Webbon Leading Christian Young Men and Families Astray

I stand by my decision in April of 2023 to warn people that Joel Webbon is likely to cause significant damage in the Body of Christ in the years ahead: Joel Webbon on Women | Vision Forum 2.0 and Patriocentricity Again.

The Botkin sisters releasing their video apology for So Much More is a huge help in this moment. Their decision to publicly address the treatment of daughters (and women) in the Christian family and body of Christ pushes back at these toxic ideas at just the right time. The sisters specifically said one of the reasons they addressed this issue now is because these ideas are still being taught (bold mine).

Twenty years ago, we published a book called So Much More: The Remarkable Influence of Visionary Daughters on the Kingdom of God. Whether by some impressive ad campaign, or just by the cresting wave of interest in the topic at that time, this 352-page hardback by two unknown teenagers with no theological training or life experience became the manifesto of the burgeoning “Stay at Home Daughter” movement. And it shaped a lot of lives. You may never have heard of it, but it carried a disproportionate amount of weight, and directed major life decisions for thousands of young women. And it’s still doing so.

Joel Webbon’s Warped and Unbiblical Views of Women and Marriage

Here is a comment I made on January 1, 2026, in response to a December 31, 2025, Substack by J.D. Hall: Nick Fuentes, Joel Webbon, and the Unreached Tribe of America’s Young Natives. I decided I should keep a record of it here.

(And before anyone new around here accuses me of not caring about the real plight of young White men, please be aware that I have an entire category dedicated to A War on White People. I am very aware and concerned.)

My comment which was addressed to J.D.:

I heartily agree that White young men are a huge mission field. I did campus ministry for a few years (ages ago) and I love men and women of that age range.

You wrote:

“What Webbon has done is choose proximity to influence over positive performance reviews issued by the very Christians who’ve already written him off. He has chosen to learn how these young men think, how they speak, what they fear, and what they want, rather than talking about them like an abstract sociological problem. “

I wish I could share your optimism about Webbon having pure motives, but I don’t. I’m willing to admit I’m wrong if he bears good fruit in the next few years. Only time will tell. But he reminds me of a more angry and intense Doug Phillips repackaged for a new generation. We both know how well that went.

All that said, both Nick Fuentes and Joel Webbon have expressed warped and unbiblical views of women and marriage. That concerns me greatly as their influence grows.

Feminism pitting women against men was evil. Subtly pitting men against women is also wrong. If they push hard-core patriarchy, they will only create new problems in the body of Christ. I would truly prefer we avoid a disaster like that.

Uncle Juan responded to my comment.

I already watched Nick Fuentes… what is it exactly about Joel’s view about women that gets to you? Is it he takes the same view as Wilson concerning women voting? As also our Founders did?

I replied and provided an example.

Joel Webbon has made numerous troubling statements about women. Here’s just one (if a link will work here).

Christian men who think the answer is ignoring women don’t grasp Jesus’ teachings in the New Testament.

Joel Webbon on Ignoring Women

Reformed Patriachy vs. Vision Forum

The current push of Reformed Patriarchy is much worse than what Vision Forum did.

I believe many to most of the people associated with Vision Forum were sincerely well-intentioned, theologically inept and misguided, and/or driven purely by financial profit and personal benefit. In contrast, the current crop of patriarchalists appears to be driven by a desire for power and revenge. As damaging as Vision Forum was in so many ways, there is something dark about this current group pushing Reformed Patriarchy.

Joel Webbon has openly stated on at least one podcast that one of his goals is power. While I am not opposed to Holy Spirit-led Christians seeking positions of influence where they can work for righteousness in our country, these are not the men I would trust with significant power. The way these men openly speak about and to Christian women online is appalling and reveals to me a true desire for harsh paybacks for the sins of feminism. In my opinion, these angry men would have no problem oppressing their sisters in Christ and women in their own families in order to achieve those revenge goals.

That reality is much more dangerous for everyone involved. The men and women who listen to people like Joel Webbon will repeat many of the same mistakes we are currently unwinding with the Botkin sisters – on steroids.

Except this time I think the consequences could be much worse for everyone involved.
