Nine years ago today, this beautiful young lady made me a mommy.

Caroline was the answer to many, many years of prayers, hoping, and tears.

Caroline is a creative, funny, imaginative little girl who brings laughter to our home many times every day. The name we felt led to choose for her, Caroline Elisabeth, means “A Joyous Song of the Fullness of God” and she embodies that daily.

She helps me look at the world in a different way, embracing the imaginative and creative that I normally would not take the time to see.

Caroline challenges me to be a better woman, mother, and Christian. Being her mom has caused me to think through my faith, how I approach it, and what following Jesus as Savior and Lord means in daily life.

Being her mommy has also given me professional and ministry opportunities I never would have expected.

This website alone is a testament to how becoming a mommy has shaped my life in amazing and sometimes difficult ways.

My life has taken twists and turns down paths I never anticipated. But God knew and I’m thankful for all of the ways He has used being Caroline’s mommy to enrich the lives of others.

Thank you, Lord, for blessing me with nine years as Caroline’s mommy!
