Guarding My Christian Witness & Current Events

I’ve been thinking about the importance of guarding my Christian witness quite a bit lately. On July 18 I was involved in a discussion on Truth Social. A man I’ve become social media acquaintances with said this:

There is absolutely no one you can trust. This is the wisdom I’ve asked for that is hard to accept. It becomes more evident everyday that you can only walk alone with God until one’s true nature is inevitably shown. True colors are being displayed and it’s disheartening to say the least. Messaging is so mixed, twisted and discombobulated it’s hard to tell where the enemy starts and begins. We need a miracle folks.

I replied with the following two comments in the discussion.

I’ve felt the same way for several weeks. I value my Christian witness above all else and so I’ve held back writing quite a bit re: what I perceive happening because I don’t want to lead people astray if I’m wrong. I don’t want to damage my witness in any way. Even writing a post yesterday saying that events on Saturday convinced me that Trump was chosen by God to lead us out of bondage was a step of faith. I don’t ***truly*** know that to be a fact.

I knew there would be a falling away from MAGA after so many “liberals” jumped on the 2020 bandwagon due to having no choice (Dave Rubin types). The same thing will happen after 2024. The important thing is that MAGA remain faithful to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Lord will work the rest of it out.

I haven’t yet grasped how the Israel and Jew situation will shake out in MAGA, especially since Israel was saved for last. Trying to reconcile what the Scriptures say, what I see happening, etc. is too misty at the moment.

and

I’ve been a blogger for over 19 years. One of the things that scares me most would be discovering I’ve led people astray from God’s truth. I’m generally very methodical and cautious when I take a stand on something critical when it is largely unknown, difficult to discern, and contrary to the prevailing narrative (Christian or otherwise).

I honestly feel low-level anxiety just typing these sentences because leading others astray is so awful. I watched prominent Christian and “Christian” women bloggers and male ministry “leaders” lead so many astray in the early 2000s. It shipwrecked so many lives. When it comes to things like that, I now speak up immediately because I do not want to relive that. I know the warning signs and I won’t sit by and watch people destroyed.

But these political and current event things are very difficult to discern.

I’ve reached the point where I don’t expect to write news and political posts very often in the coming months. I already have a body of work on this website on those topics. It lays out what I think is the big picture and what I perceive as some of the most pressing needs and concerns. Unless or until something truly significant changes, there isn’t much more for me to say. I’m not going to write just for the sake of writing and commenting on every development. For example, I chose not to write a post about the RNC convention. I could have. I have a lot of thoughts about it. But there were needs in my home that were more important at the moment. If a topic comes up and I feel compelled to write something, I will. Otherwise I don’t feel any sense of needing to write about happenings just to say something.

I do update my Telegram feed daily because it’s one of the ways I help David stay informed. He’s too busy working to have time to read much news. I provide him with the highlights and I offer it to my website friends as well.

Caroline and I read The Art of War by Sun Tzu this year in our homeschool. It was excellent timing for the days in which we live. One of the key truths in the book is this:

All warfare is based on deception.

We’re living through that and it makes it very difficult to know who to trust. I daily ask for discernment and guidance because none of us can know where the coming days, weeks, and months will take us.

But wherever it is, God will still be on His throne.

I feel similar. So confused I mostly sit quietly and pray. My gut tells me we are being psyop’d from all sides.
MAGA is the highest level you can reach in Satanism so this too concerns me. But, like you said, God will remain on the throne❤️

      Hi Melissa,

We are absolutely being psyoped from every direction. The only question is which psyops are meant for our good and which ones aren’t.

The past several months I feel like they are all just meant to hurt and confuse and that to me is all the devils business! Of course I hope I’m wrong

Oh dear, Sallie, every time you say you can’t / don’t expect to write any more on the political topic, things get so crazy that you can’t help but write! 😉 I completely understand how you are feeling though. I have lots of feelings and ideas on current events, but I would hate to lead any of my friends astray or hurt my witness as well. We must do the best we can with the knowledge and discernment God has given us at the time, while also standing against the evil one. Thank you for all you do. <3

      Hi Amanda,

Oh, there is much that could be written. But we’ve entered the time when the things I would like to write about cross a line where I’m not comfortable. That’s what I mean when I say I don’t want to sacrifice my Christian witness.

The other difference is that in most of the categories you can see clearly now I was running well in front of the mainstream news. I was seeing things unfold many months ahead of most people and it was usually pretty obvious to me. Things are so clouded now that I can’t see things clearly enough to write about them. I could tell you what I think will happen in a lot of cases, but it’s more conjecture and I’m not willing to risk my reputation to do that.

The most glaring example is the situation with Israel and the “awakening” regarding their control over our country. It’s been blatantly obvious to me for a few years this was going to blow up in a big way. I think parts of it will rock the evangelical world to its core. I have no clear idea how it will be resolved in the nation or in Christianity. None. And I haven’t seen ***anyone*** offer a suggestion that rings true.

      I hope that clarification helps.

Oh my! In the last 10 months I have personally become more and more confused about Israel. It seems as if everything I have been taught to believe is now so horribly wrong. Even typing this I feel a tremendous amount of anxiety. I see a few of my friends (including you) embracing a totally different viewpoint than what the church, and no I don’t know where to go from here.

          Hi Sue,

David and I have been spending a lot of time on this issue. He’s never believed the idea that Israel is a separate entity to be treated differently. I was raised in those circles, but have never been strongly inclined that way either.

That said, we’ve both come to the conclusion that the partial-preterists are probably the most correct. I think much (but not all) of Revelation was already fulfilled around 70 A.D. All of the stuff about building a third temple and the red heifers seems almost heretical to me in light of Christ’s sacrifice.

I would like to do a series of posts about this, but am not sure when and how. I’ve watched so many videos, read so many articles/posts, etc. to get to this point. I’m not sure yet how to distill it all.

David just finished reading this book that we’ve had forever. He said it is good. It might be something you would find helpful?

This is the website that is the original source for the red heifer article. I’ve only looked at it briefly, but it looks like there is a lot of good material here to dig into. I’ll definitely be checking it out more thoroughly this week. But standard disclaimer applies since I’ve not read everything there.

I’ll make one prediction here that I just mentioned when I was sharing bits on my Telegram channel.

What is coming will split a lot of churches.

The unbiblical worship of what we are told is Israel will split churches and turn Christian brothers and sisters against one another.

This one will take some time to happen, but I think it is inevitable.

As I have mentioned to you before, I would love some research, articles, videos etc. on Israel as God’s Chosen people if you have suggestions. So many, Christians in particular, have turned a blind eye to what Israel does wrong because of this.

I can understand your reasons for getting rid of the News off your site. It becomes way too much sometimes. I have always enjoyed your biblical and theological insights to learn from.

Your point on trusting people is so true. It seems that trust is something hard to come by these days.

      Hi Kris,

David and I were just discussing all the Israel and Jew stuff again the past few days, especially everything that comes up in Matthew and Acts.

Is there something specific you are thinking about? It’s such a big topic and could go so many ways.

Specifically as Jews are God’s Chosen people. I want to understand how to talk about this. Are they still God’s Chosen people today? I am questioning this. The second would be that Israel is only Jews land. I know there is much in scripture, specifically the OT, about this. Is this still true today?

        Thanks!
