Back in the Saddle – Finally

I am so thrilled to be back in the proverbial saddle again. The past few days while I’ve been slowly getting better, I’ve been working a lot behind the scenes on this website. David and I spent the better part of two days late last week updating all of the images in Morning Hope and Eventide Blessing that had identical images so each post has its own unique photo. (For ease of posting, I had used the same handful over and over again. But I was not happy with it.) There were about 90 in all to do and it was something we could do while we were low energy and still recovering from being sick.

So that is a huge item off my to do list. If you scroll through the categories, you’ll see lots of lovely pictures.

I also spent a bunch of time tweaking my tagging system. David helped me change some things in the sidebar. We worked on designing some opt-in forms that I hope to start using soon.

So it worked out well his work was slow for a few days and he could spend it helping me.

Part of the reason I have actually felt motivated to work on things is that since the inauguration, the buyers have returned to my shop here and on Etsy. I had almost forgotten what it was like to have a steady stream of sales. The past few years have been so bad for most people selling online. I see a glimmer of hope now and am thankful.

I did get quite a bit done during my Finish the Job Week. Toward the end of that week I started feeling very tired and thought maybe I had overdone it. It retrospect, I was getting sick. That said, I got a lot done and am pleased. I will eventually return to the last bit when I’m able.

So that’s what I’ve been up to the past few weeks. Now, it’s time to start homeschooling again.

How has your 2025 been so far?

Hi Sallie , thankful you are feeling stronger and got a lot done you wanted to as well. Here in Minnesota we go back into the deep freeze tomorrow .. but we have no snow. It has been twenties and thirties above zero so lovely for us.. with some sun , so our darkness is lessening and we are coming up for air. We also had that bug of sorts.. and it hung on forever. My cat Bart was very ill too and I am so thankful he is back up and running I was up with him five nights and days nursing him and praying for him with some folks who prayed with me. A vet here will not speak to a person unless you have two hundred dollars in your hand then to do any kind of check up it is five hundred… wow It was disheartening to not even be able to talk to one. Since then I have found out Chewy on line , a place to order pet supplies, will help not only with a vet bill, but to help connect a person to a vet to talk to. WOW… how incredible. He is doing well I am so thankful. We wait for family to come soon from New Mexico to bring our car here to help us get around. That will be wonderful . Lots of love to you. we love hearing all you are doing. You are an incredible genius of a woman, wife and mother . I am glad you are trying to do fun things for you at times ..and love seeing what you are doing in the homeschooling. Blessings and prayers.. and lots of warm love from us here. Merri and Bart my Spirit cat so grateful to know you in this world.. you make it a shining, and loving place and teach us all how to be more loving, caring and that we can do more than we think we can. xx blessings and gratitude … and hope your weather there is ok ..wondering if you have snow. x love Merri

For 20+ years, I’ve been writing about following Jesus Christ and making choices based on what is true, beautiful, and eternal. Through purposeful living, self-employment, and homeschooling, our family has learned that freedom comes from a commitment to examine all of life and think for yourself.

I hope you will join me here where we discuss all of life each day.

A Christian Nation

"The real object of the first amendment was not to countenance, much less to advance, Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to a hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government."

Joseph Story (Associate Justice of the Supreme Court), Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), § 1871.

countenance: To favor; to encourage by opinion or words; To encourage; to appear in defense (Websters Dictionary 1828)
