All Baby, All Day

This has been an “all baby” day!

We hit the ground running early this morning by finishing up our online researching re: baby items and then we were off to do the vast majority of our registering. (I also took along a highlighted print-off of all the suggestions everyone here gave me a few months ago!) We’re just about done and when I’m finished I’ll post links in case anyone is curious. We were very happy with the things we were able to find and look forward to using them!

We also attended our c-section class this evening. It was interesting and helpful. I’m the type of person who is a lot more comfortable going into a situation if I have a solid understanding of what is going to take place. It answered the questions I had left and I am at peace with the situation if that is what develops.

I also researched diaper services. We’re exploring all our options and weighing the pros and cons of disposable and cloth.

So it has been a full day!

We found out that our application for membership has been accepted so we will be joining our church this Sunday. We had a very nice visit with the elders and pastors last evening and are looking forward to being a part of this congregation. Perhaps some day I will write about our L-O-N-G struggle to work through the whole church thing. But we’re happy to be joining this group of believers. And relieved.

Tomorrow I plan on matching hostesses with topics for the Carnival so that information should be up sometime very soon. 🙂

Good night!

    Sallie-
I had 3 csections. There is a lot of mis-information out there regarding csections. While we ALL want to avoid one at all costs, I just want you to know that if you do end up with one, it CAN be a beautiful birth. I’ve been told by some highly misinformed (and scared) women that having a csection isn’t a free birth filled with joy. In some cases that is true (I had one emergency c/s) but in my cases, all three sections produced what we wanted all along: a healthy mom and baby.

I’m sure you are getting excited about her arrival. Enjoy this precious time.

Before we had our first child, everyone kept telling me to go out to eat, shop, go to movies, all those things. I thought they were being insensitive, but there is some truth in that….not that your life is over when you have a baby (it is just beginning!!!), but it is hard to take a newborn to a symphony and so on.

Much love to you as you embark on this wonderful time.

Bethany – Yes, we are having a lot of fun!

    Mrs. Blythe – Thank you!

Lindsey – Thank you for your words of encouragement. In my mind, a joyful birth will be a safe one that results in a happy and healthy mommy and baby. So I agree with what you wrote. Just today we went to a favorite little town to have lunch and poke through the shops. We’ve gone there lots of times, but this will be the last time we do it with just the two of us. It is strange to ponder at times since we’ve been doing stuff like this for the past ten years. Strange, but in a good way. 🙂
