Caroline hasn’t had a new substantial toy since Christmas and between the heat and just the summer blahs, David and I decided to splurge and buy her something new. She’s been wanting an American Girl doll (McKenna or Caroline), but I really don’t want to open that can of worms because it isn’t a habit we can afford to start her on. I also wanted something that was a bit more educational but in a fun way.
I showed her the LEGO Friends line because I thought she would enjoy it. She really enjoys building things and she’s all girl in that she loves pink and purple! When I showed her the LEGO Friends Olivia’s House, she was completely smitten. So we got it for her.
The entire thing is so incredibly well packaged, organized, etc. It has two instruction books with it and she has been able to follow most of it with only minimal help. Major practice in following directions which is a great learning opportunity!
My only concern?
I don’t think she’s going to want to go to bed until it’s done!
Do any of your children love LEGOS? What are their favorites? Do you consider LEGOS educational?

This is on our list for my 10 year old’s birthday in September. She’s been wanting Olivia’s house for over a year! We love legos, but that didn’t actually happen until they introduced the Friends brand. Since her first kit, she’s now hooked and likes them across the board. I count them as educational and much prefer her spending time creating and imagining than watching tv or playing electronic games.
