Rising Above Difficult Times & Simple Living

These are difficult times. There is no denying that. But difficult times are nothing new to our great God. The Lord has walked His children through many difficult times and He certainly isn’t going to stop now.

Nothing is a surprise to Him. He told us in His Word that there is nothing new under the sun. He’s seen the folly of man before as is abundantly evident when you read through the book of Proverbs as Caroline and I have been doing. He expects to see it again.

To us this folly can seem overwhelming. But be assured of this. God is sovereign. He is on His throne. He is always there whenever we turn our thoughts to Him. Seek Him steadily throughout the day. Let your entire day be one of unending prayer where you are keenly aware of His guiding presence each moment. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

If you are looking for encouragement for these days, check out these posts under Living in Difficult Times.

I would also encourage you to revisit or begin your efforts at being a Prudent and Prepared Homemaker. Pull out your copy of the handbook and work through the pages that companion the various posts in the series. I would not put off taking steps to be both prudent and prepared.
