Three big stories last weekend and three big lies.
I believe almost nothing in the first 24 hours after a story breaks. I wait to see how things actually unfold because I know there are too many people who only want to be first and they could care less if something is actually true.
So until I can fact check for myself, I assume that 90% of what the MSM reports is either a lie or horribly slanted.
Not so with many others.
Some of the worst this weekend were conservative Trump haters who rushed to judgement over a heavily edited video of Catholic kids. I expect people on the Left to do and say whatever they can toward anyone who supports the President or considers themselves a Deplorable. But it’s sad when people I would like be able to trust on a fairly consistent basis don’t even try to get it right when it concerns Trump.
National Review Online is solidly in the Never Trumper/Hate Trump/Believe the Worst about Trump Supporters camp. They immediately wrote this gem that they took down once they realized how wrong they were. I had to get it from the Wayback Machine.
The Covington Students Might as Well Have Just Spit on the Cross
There were so many others that I’m not going to link to, but probably should. People who seem to have a lot to offer, but their hatred of Trump automatically makes them assume anything related to negative news about Trump or his supporters must be true.
Well, like most things, it depends on your perspective as this photo of Prince William from the website EatLiver.com clearly illustrates.

A lawyer is going to help the wronged families pro bono. I am glad they are being aggressive in going after this. People have to start fighting back. Our society cannot continue to be run and ruined by angry Twitter mobs and lying media who will run with any story that fits the narrative they want to push. This is especially despicable because it involves minors and children.
No tweets to share on this story. What was done and is still being done to these boys is so vile and disturbing that I could barely force myself to read about it this week.
This article from The Atlantic hits the poor reaction from the Left: The Media Botched the Covington Catholic Story – And the damage to their credibility will be lasting
One woman learned a lesson. Maybe a few more will? I Failed the Covington Catholic Test – Next time there’s a viral story, I’ll wait for more facts to emerge.
But I do stand by what I said before: This is the country you will get from the Left. Keep electing these people and this is what you will get.
And if you think this situation was bad, just wait until President Trump nominates Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court if Justice Ginsberg passes away. This article from National Review almost seems prophetic given what happened to the Covington kids: Are Democrats Testing a Future Strategy against Amy Coney Barrett?

I would love to see legal repercussions for this story. I also would like to see prison sentences for the threats issued.
The Atlantic article spells it out clearly, and I appreciate her candor in the last paragraph, “I am prompted to issue my own ethics reminders for The New York Times. Here they are: You were partly responsible for the election of Trump because you are the most influential newspaper in the country, and you are not fair or impartial. Millions of Americans believe you hate them and that you will casually harm them. Two years ago, they fought back against you, and they won. If Trump wins again, you will once again have played a small but important role in that victory.”
“Millions of Americans believe you hate them and that you will casually harm them.”
That was January 2019.
Casually?
No, there’s nothing casual about it.
It’s deliberate and methodical.
And evil.
And it will continue until every last root of it is upended and burned (metaphorically speaking).
A number of Christians were among those who rushed to judge and condemn, while at the Last Supper, Jesus prayed that his followers would be united.
